A TAB punter is confident of a significant payday after placing $30,000 at $3.10 on Arcadia Queen to win tomorrow’s Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington on the final day of the 2020 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The TAB customer in question will collect $93,000 if the Grant and Alana Williams-trained mare wins her eighth race from 15 starts.
“The $30,000 wager on Arcadia Queen is one of the biggest bets placed by a TAB punter during this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
“The largest bet on any race at Flemington this week occurred yesterday when a TAB customer plonked $40,000 at $1.85 on the victorious Written Beauty in the Red Roses Stakes (last race) minutes before the barriers opened.”
Arcadia Queen is a dual Group 1 winner having saluted in the 2018 Kingston Town Classic at Ascot in Perth and last month’s Caulfield Stakes when she accounted for Russian Camelot.
At her last start, Arcadia Queen was a brave fifth in the Cox Plate at The Valley on October 24.
