Caulfield Race Eight Number 4 Heza Ripper ($10):
Surprised this bloke is at double figures. He is flying this time in, but has just had no luck with gates, and that was the case again last start at the Valley where he was wide no cover throughout and just tired late. Loves give in the track and he gets his chance here to post a win from a good gate finally.
Rosehill Race Eight Number 11 Calanda ($7.00):
Gee this looks sensational overs. This Team Snowden trained galloper has had little luck this time in, with the obvious being in the Hawkesbury Guineas. He comes through the Daybreak Lover three weeks back where he worked home really strongly against the tempo behind All Over Bosanova. Provided we get an even playing field here, he’ll take some beating.
Sunshine Coast Race Four Number 11 Saxton Rock ($21):
One of the better each way plays at the Sunny Coast at good odds. Resumed from a let up in the Ipswich 2YO race two weeks ago and given the pattern of the race, I thought his effort was very good in defeat. Got a mile back in a leader dominated affair and was never a winning threat, but his closing effort was very good. Bigger track and at 1200m are big ticks, he has the upside/fresh legs and the Matty Dunn polish.
Morphettville Race Six Number 5 Serenely Discreet ($3.60):
Looks a great bet to mine despite the fact she is first up from a long break. Really good filly that resumes for the Stokes camp off a three run Spring prep, which ended with a superb win in the Edward Manifold. Has dodged the Autumn and resumes here, which is intriguing, but she did look great in a recent trial win here.
