Champion trainer Chris Waller will line-up four runners in this weekends Winx Stakes field but the price in which bookmakers opened one of his horses has shocked the trainer.
Chris Waller spoke on RSN radio this morning and went through each of his horses chances in the Group One Winx Stakes this weekend but his comments about about Kolding’s chances were the most surprising given the horse is currently $51 at Sportsbet to win the race.
“Kolding, he’s drawn 18. I don’t think there’s any respect for him in Victoria simply because he doesn’t run well down there. If you take out those left-handed track runs, and the fact he carried 57kg or so in the Doncaster, his form’s really good still,” Waller said on RSN 927.
“I can’t believe the price he’s paying – maybe it’s because of the barrier which he needs to overcome.
New Zealander The Bostonian has been the best backed runner in the race and has taken over favouritism from Dreamforce with Con Te Partiro and Verry Elleegant also heavily backed.
