Chautauqua jumps back into Everest contention

Will he won’t he? He did!

Chautauqua bounded out of the barriers again and is on the way back. The champion sprinter had eased $5.50 out to $16 since last October in The Everest betting, but sportsbet expects that to soon change.

Chautauqua, a six-time Group 1 winner, has one more trial before his racing ban is lifted and clear the way for a return to the races.

Trapeze Artist heads Everest betting on $4.60 ahead of defending champion Redzel ($5.50).

“Chautauqua has one hurdle to get over and if he does that his price will no doubt shorten for The Everest. He’s a star sprinter and throughout his career he’s been a favourite of the punters and we all want to see him back racing again,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
