The margin was narrow but Sepoy remains unbeaten this campaign after scoring a gritty victory in the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.
The Darley colt has now won 10 of his 11 starts after staving off the late charge of Foxwedge to take out the 1200m sprint.

Satin Shoes, the only filly in the race, held on for third.
Jockey Kerrin McEvoy paid tribute to the Golden Slipper winner who was sent out at long odds-on.
βYou get a bit nervous, heβs short in the market and heβs just been winning so well,β McEvoy said.
βIt is a pleasure to ride a quality little colt like this.
βHeβs got a fantastic record now, it would be nice to see him in Australia for a couple more runs in the autumn before going overseas.β
Sepoy has won all five starts this preparation, including the Group One Manikato Stakes three starts ago when he beat the older horses.
Trainer Peter Snowden said he had done a wonderful job and earned a spell, ruling out any hopes of a clash with champion Black Caviar on the final day of the Flemington carnival.
βHeβs a great horse, heβs been up a long time,β Snowden said.
βAlthough the margin was small the effort was huge.β
