Danny O’Brien trainned son of Stratum ‘Running Tall’ has taken out today’s Sires Produce Stakes at Flemington racecourse after race favourite Helmet was scratched at the barriers.
Running Tall has broken his maiden status at Flemington today when he sat outside the leader throughout running and held out Decircles and Grand Britannia who ran 2nd and 3rd respectfully.
After a disappointing finish in the Blue Diamond Stakes behind Sepoy, Running Tall took advantage of the long straight at Flemington to kick strongly at the 200m not allowing any other runner a chance of running him down.
Danny O’Brien opted to remove the blinkers which evidently had a positive affect.
