2 Observer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a smart juvenile. James Cummings trained galloper that was runner up on debut before a dominant win at Sandown where he gapped them and ran time. That wasm over 1400m so he’s had the good grounding and seemingly has good upside to come.

1 Impending War (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is unbeaten in two career outings and has to be respected. He won the Elvstroem Classic at Swan Hill last time out, getting the decent run in behind before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose to win. Leading contender.

6 Arcora (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Busuttin/Young trained juvenile that resumes, having not raced since March 8 when down the track and outclassed in the VRC Sires. Given a good break, jumpout work has been strong, watch betting.

3 Shockletz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is heading in the right direction for Ciaron Maher after a track/distance win two weeks ago where he gave them a start and a beating, knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. He has that 2000m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.

9 Vellasmachine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a likely type. He was an eye catcher on debut at Sandown before going to Bendigo where he gave them a start but an absolute belting, picking them up very quickly and winning by a space. Keen to see him at 2000m.

7 Prochester (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance after his narrow second two weeks back here behind Shockletz. He got a peach ride by Riordan and was hailed as the winner when booting clear but just felt the pinch late and was nabbed near the peg. Key chance for sure.

6 Losesomewinmore (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned well for Team Jolly and is one of the hardest to beat after his effort at Sandown a few weeks back. He got wide in the run but one turn, it wasn’t really a disadvantage but he kept on and loomed, just finding Harry Got Styles too good. Hard to beat.

5 Cleo Cat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a leading contender for Tom Dabernig after placing in the Bel Esprit three weeks ago at Caulfield when ridden with a sit and she reacted, closing strongly late but had to settle for a second to Niance. That form clearly reads well and she does seem a horse who will thrive down the straight.

9 Twin Perfection (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout hope after his effort three weeks back in the Bel Esprit. He got off speed and kept chasing but was good late. Not sure he is sharp enough to win but could pinch a first four spot.

5 Bring Forth (Bet Now:  $SP.00), I think, runs well here. Unlucky when resuming at Pakenham, finishing second. He then went to Bendigo where he looked a moral on paper and duly saluted to win and win well. Good test here, but confident he measures up.

3 Cachink (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well. He had the suck run behind Taken a fortnight back here and loomed to win but that horse had it too good in front and kicked on strongly, but Cachink stuck on really well to run second. That form clearly reads well for this.

13 Kiss My Rock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one for exotics. He ran third to Taken a few back at Sandown. He got into a decent spot off the speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. That said, he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Taken. I think he’ll run an honest race.

2 Cafe Millennium (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks like he is enjoying life under the care of Team Hayes and can win for sure. First run for the stable came over 1200m at Caulfield and he was one of the real eye catchers of the meeting, getting back in the run and worked home strongly in an eye catching return. Better set up here, he can measure up for sure.

10 Red Galaxy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned really well for Greg Eurell and is one of the key chances after a first up win at Sale when a strong on speed victor. He then went to Sandown a few weeks ago when a fair way out of his ground but was good late when second to Magnaspin. Hard fit, can settle closer, he appeals.

11 Tijuana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks like he is enjoying life with Peter Smith. First run for the stable came over 1200m here two weeks back where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was a definite pass mark. Fitter, 1400m, more upside than most…I wouldn’t sack him.

10 Muktamil (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a last start track/distance winner and commands respect. That win came in a race that didn’t have the strongest depth but he finished best in a driving go to score. He’s in winning form, hard fit, he appeals as a key winning chance.

7 Goldenstatewarrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third in the race mentioned above. He got into a decent spot in transit and was there to win but just couldn’t quite finish the job when third. Hard fit now, in the right camp, he has to be respected.

3 Virtuous Circle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable. He ran behind Flash Feeling two weeks back over 2000m here when off speed and he did make up headway without threatening. He has a good 2400m+ record and does have a touch of class on his side.

There was a lot of quality about the first up win of 6 Splash Back (Bet Now:  $SP.00) at Caulfield. She trucked in the run behind the speed before angling clear and she knuckled down with real purpose late in the piece to win and win well. Good upside/improvement, she looks the one.

1 Wings Of Song (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs for Team Payne since racing over the mile at Flemington. She got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in the straight but just couldn’t quite get there when third to Makram. Like her back in trip and this isn’t a deep contest.

13 Jazz Affair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with her best. She ran over this track/distance two weeks back behind Fire Of Etna when off speed and seemed to have her chance but was a bit on the weak side late in the piece. her best is good enough so I wouldn’t dismiss her.

Going to speck 2 Relentless Voyager (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way. He is a former UK stayer that is with Ciaron Maher and makes his Australian debut, I dare say connections are hoping it’s a kick off point with the Cups in mind. I loved the way he closed off in a recent Warwick Farm trial, he is in well after the claim and has a stack of class.

3 Jimmy The Bear (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be respected. He was a strong winner two back at Caulfield before backing up a week later here in the VOBIS Gold Mile when chasing from a fair way out and while he was never beating Oh Too Good, he stayed on well. Hard to beat.

14 Prince Of Helena (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty. He comes through the Swan Hill Cup when badly held up early on in the straight before eventually getting clear and was good late when third. Hard fit, in well after the claim, he’s in the mix.

10 Savagery Vibe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since May 3 at Morphettville where she looked a good thing on paper but she was a touch flat in the straight I thought behind Lovely Lookin. Freshened up and her recent jumpout was sharp.

9 Fieldelo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a rocket for Toby Lake. 2/2 to start her career, the latest win being a first up kill at Bendigo where she spanked them and smashed the clock in doing so, which is rare for this time of year, so keen to see how she goes.

6 Supercilious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Corstens/Larkin after a good return behind Salsa Fellow two weeks back where she got into a decent spot tracking the speed and loomed to win but first up, condition just gave way. Fitter, she can threaten.
