Overcoming a wide barrier James McDonald has given Champion galloper Romantic Warrior a ten out of ten ride to win the Group 1 Hong Kong Gold Cup at Sha Tin this afternoon.
Romantic Warrior was sent out as the odds on favourite with Australian betting apps despite given a sticky draw but proved too good in the concluding stages of the race to beat Voyage Bubble which the market suggested to be the Cox Plate winners toughest competition.
