Frankel remains on course to make his eagerly-awaited four-year-old debut in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury next month.
Having been given the all-clear to resume training following an injury scare, the world’s highest ranked racehorse is progressing well according to trainer Sir Henry Cecil.
Speaking at Newbury after saddling Frankel’s full-brother Noble Mission to victory on Saturday, Cecil said: “He’s fine, he did two canters yesterday and two canters this morning.
“Hopefully I will get him ready for the Lockinge (on May 19).
“He is usually better for his first run and I don’t want him to go straight into the big races in the summer.”
Noble Mission produced a stylish performance of his own in a maiden at Newbury.
Second on his sole start as a juvenile, Noble Mission (3-1 fav) settled just off the pace through the early stages by Tom Queally.
He only had to be nudged along to pick up the strong-travelling Captain Cat, before lengthening well and holding Dream Tune by 3-3/4 lengths.
William Hill firmed Noble Mission to 25-1 from 33s for the Derby.
“For a mile and a quarter horse that was a good performance,” Cecil said.
“I wanted to start him over a mile on this ground, and he’s won very nicely.
“I don’t want to say anything silly, so I will just feel my way at the moment.”
