10 Super Hong Kong (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1800m on the dirt here. He got off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat when second. Racing like 2000m suits, strikes a winnable race…happy to be in his corner.

12 Cool Blue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up, having not raced since Dec 3 over 1800m at Happy Valley when off speed and was never really threatening. Two trials since have even encouraging and good lead that Purton is booked.

8 Golden Fairy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 2000m after attempting to lead throughout over 2200m at Happy Valley. He led and gave a decent sight from the front but tired late. Good racing style and if he gets front end control, he’s dangerous.

9 Vigor Eye (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat play. He has run over this track/distance in both career runs. Latest was three weeks ago when fourth to Aurio after sitting on speed. Maps to do no work in the run and be effective late.

1 Cool Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Tick over trial was good, he’ll spot them a start but be quite strong at the end.

6 Here Comes Plutus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Capitalist that is on debut. He has had several trials to get ready for start one and hasn’t been too bad. Not sure he is good enough to win but could run first four at a price, from the good draw and with the claim.

3 The Unique Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can make a winning Hong Kong debut. Former NSW galloper that was quite progressive when racing in Australia. I’m normally on guard with these imports but he has trialled up really well, is a short course specialist and is drawn the right part of the track.

There was a lot to like about the win of 4 Sight Hermoso (Bet Now:  $SP.00) two weeks ago at this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Off last start, he is one of the leading contenders.

6 Bundle Of Charm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout hope. He ran over this trip just under two weeks back at Happy Valley where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was quite good. He has the finale to take this out.

5 Raging Rapids (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a last start track/distance winner and with that in mind, he is top seed. That win came on New Years Day, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Tricky draw but should get three wide cover and every chance to launch late.

12 Absolute Honour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found positive form and he can maintain it I think. He ran third here two weeks ago, sitting just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. Maps ideally and should be around the mark.

11 Namjong Kingdom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after resuming over the mile here four weeks back. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off. Likely spots them a start but should get a drag into the race and be strong late.

4 Conrod Patch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I’m leaning. Son of Zousain that debuts off the back of several trials, the latest seeing him win last week and he moved well enough. Maps to get a sweet run and I think this race is well within reach for a debut win.

3 Cloud Nine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since debuting at this track/distance. He attempted to lead throughout and he gave a decent kick from the front but was nabbed late when third. Looks to have talent, he commands respect.

8 Mega Mastermind (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since a debut at this track/distance where he got back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chasing and was good in defeat. Better for the run, he’s in the mix.

5 Amazing Partners (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m on New Years Day. He got back off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat when third. Like him up to 1400m, should be strong late, he appeals.

2 Nyx Gluck (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating after a strong track/distance win four weeks ago, settling just off speed before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Confidence is up, he appeals against these.

10 Just Follow Me (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when landing on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when fourth. Should press forward from the wide gate and be around the mark.

2 Flow Water Eagle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win. He has been runner up in all three career outings, his latest run being two weeks ago over 1400m here where he got back to near last in the run and made up good headway. Like him up in trip and if within range, he’ll take holding out.

8 Smart Fat Cat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got back off speed and worked home well. Knocking on the door and commands respect against these.

11 Ace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after resuming over 1400m here four weeks back. He got off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was a definite pass mark in his return. Looks suited up in trip, a win wouldn’t totally shock.

2 Lifeline Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a good each way gamble. He ran fourth two weeks ago at this track/distance where he got back off speed and while he was never threatening, he chased nicely when fourth. Maps to settle closer, be strong late…I think he only runs well.

4 Aurio (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a track/distance win, getting the suck run in behind before angling clear and he made a mess of them late. Tricky gate but off last start, he’s one of the hardest to beat.

9 Lucky Together (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m here on New Years Day. He got back off speed and didn’t really fire in a plain effort. Back to 1200m, I’d be including him in exotics.

There was a lot to like about the first up win of 8 Emblazon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) four weeks ago at this track/distance. He landed in a decent spot near the speed and credit to him, he found under pressure to fend them off. Good upside to come, good racing style, he’s the straight bat play.

2 Glittering Legend (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the more fascinating runners on the card. Very promising animal that makes his HK debut for Dave Eustace, I dare say with eyes on the Derby. Hasn’t really set the world on fire in trial work but Purton rode the latest trial and he sticks, so watch betting.

1 Juneau Pride (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when doing early work to land on speed and just felt the pinch late. Tick over trial was good, his best is good enough to threaten.

6 Do Your Part (Bet Now:  $SP.00) does seem the most obvious. He placed four weeks ago at this track/distance, settling just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there behind The Red Hare. Like him here with fresh legs, he has a kind map and will be effective late.

2 New Future Folks (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few runs at 1200m and is racing like a rise to 1400m will be ideal. Latest run was three weeks ago when back near last but worked home with real purpose behind Jumbo Treasure. He’s one of the hardest to beat.

3 Akashvani (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Sunday at this track/distance. He got back in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat. If within range, can settle closer, he’s dangerous.

5 Aerodynamics (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a great way to end the card. Jumps straight to the mile but his Hong Kong debut over 1200m was a real eye catcher the way he closed off in defeat. I think the rise in trip is fine, he’s one of the hardest to beat.

11 Endued (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was an impressive track/distance winner on New Hears Day, settling off speed before being presented clear air and drove hard late to finish best. Tick over trial was good, he gets weight relief and has good upside to come.

10 Violet Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a former UK galloper that makes his Hong Kong debut for Douglas Whyte. I reckon they’ll have eyes on the Derby with him and off extensive trial, I don’t think fitness will be an issue. Watch betting and see what it does.
