A group of 12 top jockeys, including James McDonald, Zac Purton, Frankie Dettori, and Ryan Moore, are teaming up for a groundbreaking global series aimed at revolutionising horse racing.
The league, set to launch in 2026, will operate on a franchise model, with jockeys acting as team principals, securing sponsorships, and competing for a $15 million prize pool.
The winner could take home up to $5 million in a points-based system.
The series, founded by John Ferguson and Lachlan Fitt, seeks to engage new audiences by highlighting the athletes themselves, similar to the success of cricket’s Twenty20 and Formula 1’s Drive To Survive.
“Racing has struggled to attract younger audiences and lacks a globally coordinated platform,” Ferguson told Racenet.
“Now is the time to highlight racing’s global icons, the jockeys, and show the world what incredible athletes they are.”
Events will take place across global venues, including the US, Middle East, Asia, and the UK, complementing existing racing carnivals.
