Jockey fractures neck in Adelaide fall

Adelaide jockey Matthew Neilson remains in hospital after suffering neck and back injuries in a fall at Morphettville.

Neilson came down in an incident near the 300m-mark of a race on Saturday.

He was treated on the scene before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with a suspected neck fracture, a fracture in his back, fractured ribs and a punctured lung.

His mount Charossa suffered a minor injury.

A statement issued on behalf of Thoroughbred Racing SA said Neilson had full feeling in his arms and legs.
