Let’sbefrankbaby heads to the US after ownership change

Stakes-winning mare Let’sbefrankbaby has left Australia for the United States following a change in ownership. US-based co-owner Gary Barber purchased the mare outright after her recent run at Caulfield on August 31. Let’sbefrankbaby, trained by Robbie Griffiths and Mat de Kock, won the Group 3 SA Fillies Classic and will likely be sold at a broodmare sale in November.

There is a chance she could race once or twice in the U.S. before the sale, depending on how she travels. The five-year-old mare was a five-time winner and finished sixth in the 2022 VRC Oaks as a $400,000 Inglis Easter Yearling purchase.

Mat de Kock expressed disappointment over losing a potential carnival horse but held no ill feelings. “Gary felt her most value as a broodmare would be selling her in America,” he said. “We wish her and Gary all the best.”
