International Melbourne Cup contender Gold Mount has been ruled out of the race and the Spring Carnival after the horse was found to be lame.
Gold Mount was being aimed at the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup but has pulled up lame from his twelfth placed finish in the Caulfield Cup on Saturday and has been retired.
