The Cox Plate field is down to eight following the scratching of Globeย on veterinary advice.
The Mick Price and Michael Kent-trained galloper had been under a fitness cloud of running in the Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday following a Sleip Test on Monday.
A Sleip Test uses AI motion analysis to identify lameness which showed Globe had some variation in his gait following irritation to the capsule around his off-fore fetlock joint.
Racing Victoria vets inspected Globe on Thursday morning and ruled him out after being found to be lame in his off-foreleg.
In a post to social media, Price Kent Racing stated RV vets had withdrawn Globe from the Cox Plate which they totally agreed with.
โThe horse was not 100% and the welfare of any horse comes before any race,โ Price Kent Racing posted on X, formerly Twitter.
โHe will be spelled and prepare for the autumn.โ
Connections of Globe had paid a $200,000 late entry fee to get the gelding into Saturdayโs weight-for-age championship after the gelding had won the Might And Power (2000m) at Caulfield on October 11.
