The Chris Waller-trained Dealmaker has landed a consolation win after the gelding failed to qualify for the Epsom Handicap.
The four-year-old had his 18th start at Randwick on Saturday where he placed first for only the second time β 481 days after his first win.
Starting favourite at $3.50, Dealmaker was originally part of Wallerβs Epsom Handicap entries.
βAt the end of the autumn I said to the owners weβll set this horse for the Epsom,β Waller said.
βWe got the day right but unfortunately heβs not in the Epsom.β
Dealmaker ridden by James McDonald and he defeated Got Unders ($18) by a short neck with Penske ($6.50) 1-3/4 lengths away third.
