2011 Golden Slipper speed map

With the running of the Golden Slipper Stakes tomorrow at Rosehill racecourse i have gone through and made what i thought will be the running positions of the field. View the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes speed map.

Form Guide

In a full sixteen horse field in tomorrow’s Golden Slipper it looks like there will be a lot of speed on in the race with a lot of the runners looking to take up a forward position to prevent having to rely on luck to get clear running in the straight.

It is likely Satin Shoes will look to go forward and hold the rail position up front whilst Karuta Queen will use her early speed to cross the field and be on the speed, i feel they will both look to drop the speed during the middle of the race so neither will try and take up the running by themselves.

Sepoy from barrier ten will cross a majority of the field and take up a position one out and one back and track the leaders into the race with Mosheen getting the run of the race from barrier one.

Smart Missile i feel will drift back and hope the speed stays strong throughout the race and look to find some room around the 600m mark where he may drift off the rail but i think Glen Boss will be happy to campy behind most of the field throughout the run.

The Golden Slipper is notorious for jockey’s to change racing pattens after the jump as most trainers will allow them to decide on the best positions once they jump from the barriers, the speed map though takes into account each runners previous starts so it should be relatively close to how they position themselves.
