He has ability. We saw that with this run and connections knew it because he was massively plunged to start a $1.55fav.
But while every man and his dog wanted him to win…the horse didn’t
He ran 12-wide around the turn, then when it looked a forlorn chance, he picked up the bit and started to run them down.
His young 3kg rider Tyler Schiller got excited about the horse’s charge so pulled the stick. The horse clearly did not like that so he half bucked, changed stride, wobbled even wider and lost momentum.
But he kept coming when ridden hands and heels, ran his last 600m in a stunning sub-34sec and almost scraped the outside fence and Luke Marlow saw it all. His call was outstanding.
