Sepoy’s star on the rise

Star colt Sepoy has moved to equal 15th in the latest World Thoroughbred Rankings while Black Caviar is equal second on the list behind British superstar Frankel.

Sepoy earned a rating of 123 for his wins against older horses in the Group One Manikato Stakes and Group Two Caulfield Sprint and is the third-highest ranked sprinter for the period between April 1 and October 16 behind Black Caviar (128) and Singapore hero Rocket Man (125).

Black Caviar was joined in second position on the rankings by Arc winner Danedream and French horse Cirrus Des Aigles who defeated So You Think in the Champion Stakes at Ascot last weekend.

“The rating recognises the performances of Sepoy in winning both races as truly world class and announces him as the latest star in a rich galaxy of Australian-bred sprinters in the last decade,” Greg Carpenter, Chairman of the ANZ Classifications Committee, said.
