Quarterbar out of Queensland Derby with tendon injury

The Mike Moroney-trained Quarterbar, the final runner to make the eighteen horse field for the Queensland Derby, has been scratched due to a tendon injury.

Moroney reported to stewards this morning that the son of Oratorio would be scratched.

He was a $21 chance with TAB Sportsbet.

His scratching enables first emergency From London to gain a start.

The heavily supported The Chevron remains stranded outside the field, needing one more scratching to force his way into the field.

If that fails, the $8 shot will instead run in the Brisbane Cup.
