Trainer Len Xuereb was fined $2000 after pleading guilty to two charges of Scenic Find returning a positive swab to the prohibited substance caffeine after winning races at Pakenham and Sale.
Xuereb appeared before the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Tuesday and Scenic Find was disqualified from the races on July 16 and July 31.
Caffeine and its metabolite theophylline were detected in a urine sample taken from the gelding following his win at Pakenham.
