A strong field has been assembled for the Nowra Cup (1600m) thus afternoon, with the race carrying Big Dance eligibility.

1. Super Helpful: He brings the class coming through the Festival where the form has been franked. Gets in really well after the claim, hard to beat.
2. Hollywood Hero: Looks hard to beat off a run at Kembla over the mile where he got too far back but charged home and clocked good late splits behind Estadio Mestalla.
3. Fortune: SCR
4. Intriguing Minds: SCR
5. Luvoir: I am a bit surprised he is the price he is. He looks like he will get a cheap time of it on speed and his run behind Estadio Mestalla had merit after doing on speed work. Front end control, he’ll take beating.
6. Belleistic Kids: He comes through the Community Chest at Canberra when back and wide and although he made up ground, he was never a threat. If he can settle closer, he’s dangerous.
7. Just Go Bang: Made a sustained run when resuming at Queanbeyan and was impressive, proving far too good. Natural upside/improvement. Just needs luck from the draw.
8. Louie’s Legacy: He ran third to Just Go Bang and his run was quite good after getting a fair way out of his ground. He can settle much closer and still be effective late. Definite threat.
9. Associate: Considering the pattern, his run at Kembla was one of the runs of the meeting, albeit in a Highway. The gate makes things very hard but he has to be respected.
10. Danish Prince: He brings solid enough city form and will glide up outside Luvoir and from there, he can control the tempo and be hard to beat.
11. Jacob’s Time: SCR
12. Deel Emperor: Didn’t fire in a weak race at Newcastle last time and I dare say is just making up the numbers.
13. Chateaux Park: SCR
14. Stay Tuned: Thought he was good in defeat at Hawkesbury last time but it was in a much weaker race and I can’t see him measuring up here.

I think Luvoir is the each way play at the double figures. $20 Win/$80 Place.

Luvoir loves to race with front end control so I suspect he finds the top and relatively comfortably. Danish Prince should slide across outside him and outside that pair, I can’t see much pressure on the front end. Louie’s Legacy should land in the box seat.
