The enigma that is Etymology, who finally got a win on the board last time, is the well supported favourite to take out the Bagot Handicap (2800m) this Tuesday at Flemington.
The James Cummings trained galloper was given a lovely steer from Ben Melham to win last time and his confidence should be high. He’s the $2.80 top elect and has firmed from $2.90.
He does stifle betting as it stands at the moment, with the next best being Pakenham Cup winner Our Big Mike at $7, ahead of Berisha at $9. In terms of those at longer odds, there has been specking for Californiagrandcru ($31-$23).
