Expressway Stakes 2026 – Tips, Field, Odds, Horses and Betting Preview

One of the key races at Randwick this Saturday is the Expressway Stakes (1200m), where Chris Waller has a stranglehold on betting.

Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2026 Expressway Stakes.

2026 Expressway Stakes Runner Preview:

1. Angel Capital: Angel Capital is another that is dynamite fresh and is a key chance. Connections are completely desperate for him to win a Group l, which they thought would come last run last prep in the CF Orr but bumped into a jet, Jimmysstar. Trials have been sharp, he commands respect.

2. Coal Crusher: Coal Crusher is a tough campaigner for Joe Pride that resumes. He last raced in the Razor Sharp when a game second after coming back from the 1300m of his Hunter triumph. He has looked strong in trial work, he’ll press forward and run an honest race.

3. Joliestar: Joliestar is arguably the best top class horse in Australia when it comes to first up. She is just lethal on the fresh side and confident she can resume a winner. She last raced in the Champions Sprint at Flemington when a game third to Giga Kick despite not being 100% happy on the bog. Looks to have trialled great for the return and for mine is here to rock and roll.

4. Lady Shenandoah: Waller said earler in the week that he doesn’t want to run all three and indicated this girl would be saved for next week. But, she maps perfect and the race has thinned out in terms of field size. If she runs, she is dangerous.

5. Caballus: I thought he would have been a sneaky chance in the Lightning but the stable runs here instead. He looks the leader and will give a bold sight…but the class has to be an issue surely.

6. The Instructor: SCR

7. Who But Roo: $4,000 for sixth…well done to all concerned.

8. Manaal: SCR

Coal Crusher will press forward but will have company via Caballus, who went like a Lightning horse in the recent trial win. Tempo should be genuine. Lady Shenandoah and Angel Capital lob in behind you’d imagine.
