Encryption’s odds shorten for Blue Sapphire Stakes

Encryption has been the best backed runner to take out the Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Wednesday.

The three year old feature has attracted just a field of six, but there is a bit quality at the top, headed by Blue Diamond winner Written By, who is the favourite at $1.70 but has drifted from $1.60 due to the support for James Cummings’ three year old, who was an impressive winner of the Danehill last time out and has trialled well since. He opened $5 and has firmed to $4.40.

The great unknown is Performer for Chris Waller, who is blessed with Group l talent but has faced wet tracks at his past few. He’s had interest though, into $9 from $11, with the rain hopefully staying away for his supporters.
