One of the key races at Rosehill this Saturday is the Canonbury Stakes (1100m), where Breeders Plate winner Incognito makes his awaited return.

Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2026 Canonbury Stakes.

2026 Canonbury Stakes Runner Preview:

1. Incognito: Incognito is a Michael Freedman trained colt that resumes, having not raced since his Breeders Plate debut triumph, sitting off speed before being clicked up and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Trialled well, has the runs on the board, takes beating.

2. Defensemen: SCR

3. Persian Wonder: He wasn’t too bad on debut in the Golden Gift. Trial win was solid enough but think he’ll find these a bit sharp.

4. Eviction Notice: Eviction Notice is a GaiBott trained colt that was a notable drifter in betting when debuting in the Breeders Plate. He landed on speed and didn’t fire, being quite plain late. Been given the break and his trial work has been quite good. Watch betting.

5. Written In Munny: Was very quick but was very weak late on debut two weeks ago. Tongue tie goes on, but prefer to watch.

6. Campione D’Italia: SCR

7. Confederation: Confederation is a well bred colt that debuts for Coolmore and Chris Waller. He has had two trials to get ready for start one, the latest seeing him run third to Plagiarism, working to the line well enough after being ridden out. Definite yard and market watch.

8. Hidrix: Trial work has been solid and will do no work in the run but I have others ahead of him.

Eviction Notice should take up the running given he has shown signs of jumping and running in both trials and race day. Written In Munny should slide forward as well. Defensemen should settle handy as well.
