Typhoon Friday
After a 12 week spell, Australian Horse of the Year (09/10) and current Australian Stakes G2 (1200m) race favourite Typhoon Tracy (1.90), resumes looking for her first victory this season. Trainer Peter Moody will be looking at back to back wins, after success with Black Caviar last year. “Typhoon Tracy has been beaten only once at Moonee Valley when beaten by Whobegotyou in the 1600m Dato’ Tan Chin Nam stakes, she has won all starts at 1200m. The five year old has won 10 of her 18 starts and deserves to be race favourite” said Kathryn Read.
Trainer Peter Moody has reverted back to training her as a sprinter, however history shows that colts have dominated this race, winning all but three since 1988. The quality field run tomorrow night at Moonee Valley also sees Ortensia (5.00) resume from her great fifth place in last month’s Group 1 Hong Kong International Sprint (1200m). Sydney sprinter Whitefriars (5.50) with the inform Jimmy Cassidy on board has been brought down specifically for this race and is looking to return to the same impressive form from his spring campaign, which included second to Hot Danish in the Group 2 The Shorts (1200m) at Randwick, a win in the Group 2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on October 30 and a third in the Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot. “Punters should be taking the Readbet Cashback Special.
