Adam Page gives us his Sandown preview including his best bets for the day.
In what appears to be a strong seven event card on Wednesday at Betfair Park, punters can get off to a winning start thanks to three-year-old filly Fill The Fridge.
The daughter of Barely A Moment ran a nice race on debut when finishing second to Typhoon Express before bumping into city winner Hurdy Gurdy Man. Then the filly was sent to Geelong and after a few hairy moments, she showed her class to get the job done in good fashion.
She steps up to 1400m on Wednesday which, based on last start, she’ll relish. Top rider Dwayne Dunn takes the ride and with the scratchings she comes into barrier five so Dunn has plenty of options with her and where she’ll sit in the run but her pattern is to be just off the speed.
This is a weak race so if ever she was going to win a city race, she won’t get a better chance to achieve that. The Edwards/Elkington training partnership is very good at placing their horses. They don’t bring them to town unless they think the horse can figure in the finish.
In other races today I think Simply Put can go close in race two and Bolton looks a standout in the fourth. An all-up on those two is a pretty safe bet.
