Adam Page gives us his brief early look at Saturday’s Sires Produce Stakes at Randwick racecourse. View his tips and selections.
Very open race. I’m a big fan of Uate and I’ll stick with him. Won well on debut, then destroyed his rivals on the Kensington circuit, before nailing Hot Snitzel right on the peg in the Skyline at Warwick Farm. 1400m looks perfect for him, he is fresh, Nash sticks with the youngster, drawn beautifully, looks hard to hold out.
Smart Missile was sure to be in the finish last Saturday but the drama in the barriers didn’t allow him to contest the worlds richest juvenile race. His work this week has been brilliant and the connections would love to get redemption here. On natural ability, he is the best two-year-old in Australia, but he still does a few things wrong. He is still the benchmark here.
Do You Think was given a beauty of a ride by Bowman to win the Bailleu last Saturday. He looks like a star in the making and although drawn bad again here, I expect him to be right in the thick of things.
Elite Falls was beaten by the barrier last Saturday behind Sepoy. Got a long way back and rattled home down the outside to finish third. She is a very good filly with loads of potential. She gets a good barrier here and she’ll be another that wants redemption.
Selections:
Uate on top in a tough race, over Smart Missile, Do You Think and Elite Falls.
