Adam Page gives us his brief early look at Saturday’s Kindergarten Stakes at Randwick racecourse. View his tips and selections.
Hot Snitzel backs up from the Golden Slipper and does have class on his side, but he looked like a horse that wanted a spell last Saturday. I’m happy to steer clear of him and instead I’ll go with Boys On Tour. Has gone on with it since coming to New South Wales with a strong maiden win at Newcastle before running a terrific second to Salade in the Pago Pago. He is drawn barrier, Jimmy Cassidy rides and the boom on this horse has been huge. I’m confident he can deliver here.
Fox arguably has the best form in the race, running second on debut to Do You Think, who is a major player in the Sires Produce later in the day. She’ll be on the speed and is sure to be improved by that first up effort. She’ll be hard to beat for gun rider Josh Parr and trainer Adam Duggan from Gosford.
Shadow West on her home track can definitely be in the finish. Finished third on debut behind the above average City Of Song, then found not much late behind Triple Asset. She was very good in the Magic Night when finishing fifth behind Altar after being hampered early in the race. Looks the value runner.
I will put in Hot Snitzel for fourth because his form prior to the Slipper was solid. He is drawn well in three and the Ryan/Avdulla partnership has been winning and winning well in recent times.
Selections:
Boys On Tour on top, to beat Fox, Shadow West and Hot Snitzel
