Saturday racing in Perth remains at Belmont this weekend, and the depth, on face value, doesn’t look too crash hot, but hopefully some winners can be found. The weather is overcast, the track is good (4 and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Race One (14:38) : Rentokil Initial Plate 1300m:
Back Me: 1 Veuve De Vega (Bet Now: $1.60) looks the clear horse to beat here after spanking his rivals a fortnight back. He didn’t beat much but the manner in which he did it was very good. Similar depth engaged here and he should prove tough to hold out.
Big Danger: 2 Mauldens Hill (Bet Now: $5.50) debuted behind the top tip in that race mentioned above and I thought his effort from the back was pretty solid. He has upside, so he can turn the tables, and he does have the barrier draw advantage.
Roughie: 6 Jazari (Bet Now: $8.00) debuted here last Wednesday and made up ground late behind impressive winner Sweet Ora. Bit harder here, but stable are going well with their youngsters and outside the top tip, this is a thin race.

Race Two (15:18) : Melbourne Cup Tour Dinner August 9 Handicap (78+) 1600m:
Back Me: 1 Properantes (Bet Now: $2.60) ran over this track/distance two weeks back and tried hard but had to settle for second to Military Ruler. Third up now, so should be at peak fitness and looms as one of the hardest to beat.
Big Danger: 2 Shinta Mani (Bet Now: $3.50) drops back in distance more after winning over 2000m here last Saturday in impression fashion. I’m not sure he has the turn of foot to win, but he will be strong late and is in ripping form.
Roughie: 3 Stocks (Bet Now: $5.00) ran over the track/distance a couple of weeks ago in a pretty handy race when running third to Socially Unique. He is slowly getting back into form now and he maps quite well.

Race Three (15:58) : Amelia Park Handicap (72+) 1400m:
Back Me: 10 Material Man (Bet Now: $3.00) has been given a 33 day freshen up since winning impressively at Northam, making it four from five, where he really should be five from five. Another exciting Warwick horse who will take some beating.
Big Danger: 2 Socially Unique (Bet Now: $4.60) has been in ripping form this time in for Alana Williams and Grant Pike. Impressive winner here a fortnight back and though rises in grade, looks one of the hardest to beat.
Roughie: 5 Reflectance (Bet Now: $12.00) ran behind Socially Unique in that race mentioned above and his effort was very tidy. Meets that horse 2.5kg better off here and is nearing a win. He can definitely turn the tables.

Race Four (16:34) : Celebrating Naidoc Week Handicap (1MW) 1300m:
Back Me: 5 State Solicitor (Bet Now: $1.35) just picks himself here. He has been classy in both runs this time in, both resulting in dominant wins. Has upside, draws well, Pike sticks…just wins.
Big Danger: 3 Tranquilla Sunrise (Bet Now: $9.00) has been very impressive at his past three starts, all of which have been at Pinjarra. With only 55.5kg on his back, he will lead and give them something to chase. Last 100 will be the query.
Roughie: 1 Tudor Bolt (Bet Now: $12.00) ran third to State Solicitor in that race mentioned above and his effort was pretty good in defeat. Even with the weight pull, I doubt he can turn the tables, but I’m sure he will run well.

Race Five (17:10) : Fast Track To Membership 2016/17 Handicap (1MW) 1300m:
Back Me: 5 Illusion Of Light (Bet Now: $5.00) ran over 1200m here a fortnight back where she tried hard but was just simply no match for a potential star in State Solicitor. Up to 1300 is ideal and State Solicitor isn’t here. Looks the one.
Big Danger: 8 Bourbon Dynasty (Bet Now: $4.80) ran at the midweeks here a couple of weeks back and tried hard when running a close up fourth. Third up now, so she should be at peak fitness and Pike is on.
Roughie: 4 Fizza Ma Wizza (Bet Now: $17.00) ran at Northam last time out and tried hard but couldn’t quite get the win. Has a bit of upside and on form looks a contender. The big negative is that she has drawn terribly.

Race Six (17:45) : Dayana Plate 2000m:
Back Me: 7 Beaucount (Bet Now: $2.20) was huge in the Guineas considering he was wide no cover for the trip yet still attacked the line to run fourth. Draws better here, and with normal luck, he will take a stack of beating.
Big Danger: 1 Senso (Bet Now: $9.00) comes through the Belmont Guineas also where he was a touch disappointing I thought in running seventh. Provided he doesn’t cop too much pressure on speed, he has class and will be in it for a long way.
Roughie: 8 Checkers (Bet Now: $21.00) ran over the mile here last Wednesday where he was wide no cover on speed for the trip when running a close up second. Draws better and though rising in grade, distance will be no issue and stable is in form.

Race Seven : Kirin Megumi Belmont Oaks 2000m:
Back Me: 1 Showy Chloe (Bet Now: $2.70) comes through the Belmont Guineas where she tried hard but was simply no match for the impressive Great Shot, beaten over four lengths. Back to her own age and sex now, draws well and should take some beating.
Roughie: 13 Press The Petal (Bet Now: $8.00) resumed over the Pinjarra mile a couple of weeks back and worked home without threatening to run third, beaten two lengths. She run well in the WA Oaks in the Autumn, so the talent is there, and just enormous upside.
Big Danger: 8 Hey Listen (Bet Now: $10.00) ran over the mile here last Wednesday and though she didn’t beat much, she was quite dominant in winning and won like a filly who will have no issue with the 2000m. Stable is flying and this filly has upside.

Race Eight (18:55) : Westspeed Nominations Close July 16 Handicap (66+) 1000m:
Back Me: 6 Hot Goods (Bet Now: $3.20) was really poor in three runs last time in, all of which were at Ascot. Her wins prior came at Belmont, so that’s the thing going for her, and if she brings her best form, she’d spank these.
Big Danger: 13 It’s Dynamite (Bet Now: $6.00) ran over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and worked home strongly but couldn’t quite pick up War Jeune, who looks well above average. Gets in really well at the weights after the claim for Randy Tan and looms as a major threat.
Roughie: 1 Marchand (Bet Now: $18.00) was rewarded for consistency with a super win here three weeks back at this track/distance, beating home Stravigo, who failed again next time out, so the form is suspect in that regard, but the form prior looked very good. Only has to overcome the gate to be a contender.
