Race One (14:43) : The Passages Resource Centre Plate 1000m:
Back Me: 8 Dainty Tess (Best Odds: $2.30) resumes here for Dan Morton. She hasn’t raced since early February when winning impressively over 1100m. Recent trial was encouraging and Pike is on.
Big Danger: 1 Next Generation (Best Odds: $4.60) resumes for the Parnham yard. He had three runs last time in, all of which were behind horses that ran super races in the Karrakatta Plate last Saturday so the form reads well and despite the wide gate, he will take some beating.
Roughie: 6 Hoboken (Best Odds: $18.00) is on debut for the Parnham yard. He placed in that trial Belter saluted in before placing in another. He looks to have his share of talent and does draw a decent gate, so he can easily take this out.

Race Two (15:23) : Old Comrade Stakes 1600m:
Back Me: 3 Battle Hero (Best Odds: $3.60) was excellent last time out in the Grandstand Cup (1500m) where he wasn’t suited by the tempo yet ran a game second to the mare Wink And A Nod. Confident he can turn the tables and has more upside.
Big Danger: 4 Wink And A Nod (Best Odds: $1.90) was impressive in that race before backing up last weekend where she was a touch disappointing behind Military Reign as an odds on pop. She is better than that and can definitely bounce back.
Roughie: 1 Respondent (Best Odds: $9.00) also comes through that race mentioned above where he was also not suited by the slow tempo. Similar thing will happen here, but he is too good of a horse to put the line through.

Race Three (16:03) : The Fleet West Handicap (78+) 1200m:
Back Me: 5 Petrol Power (Best Odds: $9.00) sat wide no cover here last Saturday and closed off strongly late behind War Prince. Draws much better now and he will be strong late. The one to beat IMO.
Big Danger: 7 Man Booker (Best Odds: $3.20) is a class three year old that resumes. He took out the WA Guineas before a game sixth in the Kingston Town behind Perfect Reflection. No trials but class will carry him a long way.
Roughie: 4 New Time (Best Odds: $34.00) sat on speed here a couple of weeks back and just faded late on the wet track behind the above average Lunar Eclipse. Bit easier here I suspect and he does get a bit of weight relief.

Race Four (16:43) : City Of Belmont Community Trophy (72+) 1800m:
Back Me: 9 Star Exhibit (Best Odds: $2.30) looks a future Carnival horse. He is doing plenty wrong but is still winning and doing it impressively. Looks so well placed here, Pike sticks and really only bad luck can beat him.
Big Danger: 3 Outlaw Pete (Best Odds: $7.00) is racing in fine fettle at the moment. He tried here last time out but couldn’t quite peg back Confusing. I’m confident he can turn the tables on that horse and run a very solid race here.
Roughie: 5 Illuminated (Best Odds: $9.00) was terrible here first up over 1200m but I will put that down to the wet track. Firmer conditions here and he is a second up winner in the past, so he can sharply improve here.

Race Five (17:23) : The Remelius Resources Trophy 1600m:
Back Me: 1 Lite’n In My Veins (Best Odds: $1.60) is a potential star for Fred Kersley. She was an alarming drifter first up in the Raconteur and ran accordingly when a struggling fourth. She is much better than that and if she brings her best, she will be too good for these.
Big Danger: 4 Corrente (Best Odds: $21.00) is still a maiden but there is plenty to like about this horse. Will get back and charge, so a start will be conceded, but I like the booking of Pike.
Roughie: 7 Irish Brother (Best Odds: $12.00) ran over 1400m at Pinjarra last time out and produced a brilliant finish from the back to win impressively and break the maiden status. Harder here, but like Corrente, there is a bit to like and he has upside.

Race Six (18:00) : The Neometals Handicap (72+) 1400m:
Back Me: 3 Lunar Eclipse (Best Odds: $3.80) resumed over 1200m here a couple of weeks back and looked very impressive in getting the job with a bit left in reserve. Can only see upside with him and with normal luck, he should just about win again.
Big Danger: 10 Showy Chloe (Best Odds: $3.00) is a filly taking on the older horses but there is plenty to like about her. She comes through the Ranconteur where she sat wide no cover for the trip yet stuck on well when a close second to All Gee. Pike remains on and she is on the minimum.
Roughie: 2 Corporate Larrikin (Best Odds: $10.00) comes through the feature sprint race on Albany Cup Day where he sat off speed and tried very hard when running sixth to star provincial based sprinter Run Liam Run. He is better when he runs along on speed and that should eventuate here.

Race Seven (18:35) : The St Vincent De Paul Society Handicap (1MW) 1500m:
Back Me: 10 Royal Supreme (Best Odds: $6.50) was an impressive winner at York two back before coming to this track/distance in the Raconteur when running a game fifth to All Gee. Takes on the older horses, which isn’t easy, but he is in form and Pike is back on.
Big Danger: 2 Futurism (Best Odds: $8.00) ran over this track/distance last Saturday and tried hard when running a close up third to I’m Feeling Lucky. He will again do no work from the good draw and is well weighted after the claim.
Roughie: 5 Drupa (Best Odds: $14.00) is probably the best horse in the race. He resumes for Jim Taylor after a really good opening prep during the Spring. He would be higher up in the tips, but his recent trial was poor. On that, he is a risk, but his race day form is too good to ignore.

Race Eight (19:15) : The Rotary Club Of Perth Handicap (1MW) 2200m:
Back Me: 2 Caralabek (Best Odds: $3.00) resumed over the mile here at the midweeks a fortnight back and was very impressive in getting the job done narrowly but impressively. He has enormous upside, distance increase suits and Pike remains on.
Big Danger: 4 Slick Talker (Best Odds: $6.50) ran in that race mentioned above where he closed off hard late to run second to Caralabek. Step up in trip suits and will be strong late.
Roughie: 7 Ready To Fire (Best Odds: $8.00) dead heated the win with Present Arms in that race mentioned above and he had all the cheap runs near the inside and was given a lovely ride to win. Draws a bit awkwardly here and rises in weight, but it’s hard to knock winning form.
