Warwick Farm will host their biggest race day this Saturday with some classy horse stepping out across the nine race meeting, headlined by the $2 Inglis Millennium (1100m). The weather forecast is for showers, the track is heavy (9) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

**Β MEETING ABANDONEDΒ **
Race 1. (12:55) TAB HANDICAP 1300m
Positive steer and 3 Stella Sea (Bet Now: $1.95 TOP ODDS) Sun wins this. Positive steer and she wins three weeks ago here, but she collided into Jen Rules shortly after jumping, so was back near last off a muddling speed and really did a remarkable job to get as close as she did. Hopefully she jumps clean, is put into the race early and she should be too good.
4 Spiritual Pursuit (Bet Now: $3.90 TOP ODDS) does love wet ground, so she gets conditions to suit here and is back to Mares grade after taking on a crack field two weeks ago at Randwick when wide throughout in a total forgive behind Pandemic. Gets in well after the claim for Weir, should press forward and on her home track, is hard to run down.
7 Polhampton (Bet Now: $26.00 TOP ODDS) is a bit of a bludger for Noel Mayfield-Smith in terms of winning races, but I think at odds, she should be included in multiples. Ran in a slowly run race three weeks ago at Rosehill on a bottomless surface and didn’t do a bad job late behind Lashes, who at the time was flying before failing last Saturday. Firmer footing helps, as does a rise in trip.
Race 2. (13:30) TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1200m
On breeding, he should swim, and if he runs up to the trial at Goulburn last week, 18 Southern Appeal (Bet Now: $4.50 TOP ODDS) will be beating this lot and stamping himself as a Country Championships horse. Danny Williams trains this three year old, who hasn’t raced since a total forgive run in a Rosehill Highway behind Hit The Target. Been given a good break, blinkers went on in the trial and he looked outstanding. Being by Not A Single Doubt of a Carnegie mare, he should lap up a wet track.
2 Mr Wong (Bet Now: $4.40 TOP ODDS) still looks to be doing a bit wrong for Stephen Jones but Tom Marquand stood over him first up at Randwick and he bolted in. Good thing about the win too is that he was able to take a spot near the pace whereas last prep he was getting back. Handles wet ground and you’d like to think there is improvement left.
5 Zardoro (Bet Now: $9.50 TOP ODDS) is a Highway veteran, with this being his 15th straight crack at the Highway, where he has won two, so if he wins here, no more Highways. Four weeks between runs since not having much luck at Randwick, only getting clear very late in the race. Handles wet ground and ran well in this corresponding Highway last year behind the eventual Country Championships winner Noble Boy.
Race 3. (14:05) ESKIMO PRINCE STAKES 1200m
Think you have to give the Golden Slipper winner 1 Kiamichi (Bet Now: $4.20 TOP ODDS) a look here in conditions that she’s proven on. Was really disappointing in two Spring runs so James Cummings tipped her out straight away and must say she has trialled very well leading in. Has had a decent enough grounding for this assignment, should be on speed and hard to run down.
5 Chenier (Bet Now: $4.60 TOP ODDS) was the boom colt on everybody’s in the Autumn last year, being declared as the next big thing after his win on debut at Sandown. Raced there again and was beaten as a $1.20 favourite before being spelled. Jumpouts have been pretty good without jumping up and down, but he’s an obvious yard/market watch given the extended break.
8 Regimental Band (Bet Now: $16.00 TOP ODDS) is a quality filly for Kris Lees that resumes. This girl hasn’t raced since the Spring when placing over 1400m at Flemington during Cup Week behind Banquo. Her two trials leading in have been quite good. Bit of an unknown on wet ground, but you don’t really know until you try, and her best is good enough to be around the mark.
Race 4. (14:40) LONHRO PLATE 1000m
Bit of a throw at the stumps here with 4 Jor El (Bet Now: $17.00 TOP ODDS), an I Am Invincible colt for Gerald Ryan. He did everything wrong on debut at Canterbury behind Prague so forget he went around there. That form was ticked off last Saturday and his trial last week at Rosehill was very sharp, both to the eye and on the clock, and on breeding, should handle the ground.
6 Ticket To Ride (Bet Now: $4.40 TOP ODDS) is a Team Freedman trained filly who has placed in both career outings. Latest came two weeks ago at Randwick where she paraded like she would improve with the run. Really liked the way she finished her race off behind Rulership, who I am a big fan of. Fitter, touch of class, she looks hard to beat here.
Team Snowden have always had a big opinion of 3 Barbaric (Bet Now: $8.00 TOP ODDS) so he’s a most interesting runner here. Resumes after debuting in the Breeders Plate when back in the run and working home okay behind Global Quest, with blood to be found in one nostril. Two trials leading in have been great. Just depends on how he’ll handle the track.
Race 5. (15:15) INGLIS MILLENNIUM 1100m
If 9 Cellsabeel (Bet Now: $1.50) runs up to what she produced at Rosehill three weeks ago, she just wins. Simple as that. That win was something else and the “Pro’s” loved the win as well, rating her as one of the best two year olds this season hence why she is at the top of betting for this and the Golden Slipper. Looks the winner barring bad luck.
1 Encountabull (Bet Now: $8.50) is a big query here. John Sargent trains this colt, who has been excellent in two career outings, the latest coming late last year in the Inglis Nursery when a closing second to Wild Ruler. The trial win was ugly to the eye and on the clock, but perhaps he didn’t handle the shifty/soft track? On top of the ground, been set for this race, he’s a yard/market watch for sure.
10 Sunborn (Bet Now: $61.00) is the unknown here. Daughter of Casino Prince for Edward Cummings that has had two career outings. Debuted with a win over 900m at Newcastle before making up ground late in the Inglis Nursery behind Wild Ruler before being spelled. Under a really good hold in a recent Rosehill trial when not asked to do much, so watch the market with this girl.
Race 6. (15:50) DAVALI THOROUGHBREDS CUP 1600m
8 Come Along (Bet Now: $19.00) is flying for John Sargent and while I did have doubts on him beyond 1400m, his last couple of runs have told me he is well and truly looking for the mile. Outstanding effort at Randwick two weeks ago given the slow early tempo and the fact he had to make a sustained run. Effort was full of merit and up in trip, remaining down in the weights, he appeals.
11 Katalin (Bet Now: $2.40) does look very much an above average filly for James Cummings that should eat up the 1600m here. Has won 2/2 to start her career, the latest coming over 1400m at Newcastle where she overcame difficulties but her class really stood out late and won like a potential Stakes class horse. Good test here, but think she measures up.
9 Think It Over (Bet Now: $12.00) is a very interesting runner. To me, he looks a perfect candidate for the Provincial Championships, so whether he runs here then has a freshen up, not too sure, but his resumption here on the Monday meeting a couple of weeks ago was outstanding, closing off hard from the back to just miss out on the win. Eats up the extra 200m and has upside.
Race 7. (16:30) INGLIS SPRINT 1200m
4 Condo’s Express (Bet Now: $11.00) can be a big improver here I feel. He was one of many not suited at all a few weeks ago at Flemington behind Alabama Express and did cop a severe check from Banquo which caused him to lose momentum so want to forgive that outing. He’s a quality three year old when right, so giving him another chance.
5 True Detective (Bet Now: $3.80) might be a different horse this time in now he’s a gelding. Resumed over 1100m two weeks ago at Randwick and could make a little case that he goes close to beating Pandemic. Just didn’t get clear air at the right time when the eventual winner had full momentum. Placed in both heavy track outings and up to 1200m is a big tick.
For the most part, just forget 3 Strasbourg (Bet Now: $16.00) went around during the Spring. Had three runs. Was very good first up in the Danehill behind Dalasan before finishing down the track in the Guineas Prelude and the Blue Sapphire. Been given a good spell and loved the way he closed off in a Randwick trial behind a speedy customer in Intrepidacious. His best is clearly good enough to figure.
Race 8. (17:10) BOWNESS STUD MILE 1600m
I think he’s one of the better each way gambles of the day is 6 Hallelujah Boy (Bet Now: $9.50), who is first up for Kris Lees. This guy can mix his form, but one thing that does stand out is his wet track form, which has been outstanding in Stakes races for the most part. Can sprint well fresh and his trials leading in have been brilliant. I think he’s ready to rock and roll first up.
5 Shared Ambition (Bet Now: $2.90), if he’s anywhere near right, which I think he is, will go close to winning this before heading towards tackling Group l company later in the Autumn. He’s one of the boom horses in Australia after what he did in the Spring and there are some saying he could be the next big thing for Australian racing, even a Melbourne Cup horse. His trials have been excellent, the work last Saturday was strong. I know the stable are aiming him at a race like the Ranvet, which is around six/seven weeks away, so you’d like to think he’s forward in condition, and he looks like he is.
4 Youngstar (Bet Now: $19.00) is a quality mare for Chris Waller that is resuming. This girl teased to win a race during the Spring but she just lacked any real change up speed when it was needed to break through and ended up finishing down the track in the Melbourne Cup. Trial suggested she would need the run but worked well between races last Saturday alongside Shared Ambition and this is comfortably the easiest race she has contested since her 3YO days.
Race 9. (17:50) YARRAMAN PARK STUD SPRINT 1000m
In the corner of 2 God Of Thunder (Bet Now: $2.30), who resumes for Team Hawkes. This guy has always showed talent but at times hasn’t been able to put it all together, but in the Spring, that all changed, graduating from benchmark company to running an excellent second in the Group ll Caulfield Sprint behind Miss Leonidas, who went very close to beating Nature Strip in the Moir. Smashed the clock and looked brilliant in a Rosehill trial last week, and he likes wet ground.
4 Coruscate (Bet Now: $7.00) is one of the bigger queries for the meeting. James Cummings trains this five year old, who hasn’t raced since December 2018 when placing at Rosehill behind Bon Amis, who at the time was flying. Has had two trials in readiness for his return and has looked quite good each time. Market will be the guide as to how forward he is.
The best way to ride 6 Royal Witness (Bet Now: $27.00) IMO is if they let him roll along on speed. Hasn’t been able to do that in both runs back from a break due to circumstances but I think on his home track and down in the weights, wouldn’t be shocked at all if they rolled forward and ran along at a decent clip, giving those behind something to chase.
