Night racing continues at Pakenham this Thursday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

5 Plastic Dreams (Bet Now: $2.00) has been pretty good in two runs back from a spell and gee he looks to have found a thin maiden. Resumed with a second at Burrumbeet before going straight to this track/distance when on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get past Van Gerwen. Has that run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.

2 He’s A Tiger (Bet Now: $3.10) is on the seven day back up after racing last Thursday night over 2000m here where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he stayed on and was pretty good in defeat. Up in trip is fine and strikes a winnable race.

3 Lord Devenish (Bet Now: $6.00) will land on speed and run an honest race, as seen over 2000m at Mornington last time and battled away really well in defeat I thought behind So Brave. Not sure he wins, but with an on speed racing style, he can run top four.

6 Daella (Bet Now: $2.70) on top. Cliff Brown trained filly that resumes, having not raced since Oct 2 when a strong maiden winner over 1000m at Cranbourne when strong from off the speed. Given a good break and has looked strong in jumpout work. Maps to stalk Proved and get last look.

4 Tumbling (Bet Now: $4.20) is a capable galloper that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Sep 18 at Sandown when far from disgraced over 1300m behind a handy horse, Kahhof. He does seem better suited as a short course sprinter and his jumpout work has been strong.

1 Epic Centre (Bet Now: $7.50) ran a couple of weeks back at Mornington when wide no cover on speed throughout and that hard run just told on him late in the piece behind Simple Times. Maps to land on speed and his best is good enough to be dangerous.

12 Swing Low (Bet Now: $12.00) looks the map horse and happy to back her each way. She resumed over 1200m at Kilmore where she got back off the speed and was held up at times but she kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat behind Privalova, who ran well on Friday night, so the form reads well, should stalk the speed and be strong late.

7 Time Lapse (Bet Now: $2.60) looks the likely leader and with home track advantage, you have to say he’s hard to beat. That said, he has been beaten in both runs to date and has been a short priced favourite, so from a betting perspective, he could be a risk, but he looks the leader and with front end control, he’ll be hard to get past.

9 Bron (Bet Now: $26.00) is one I can entertain for exotics after debuting over 1000m at Yarra Valley when near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and tired late when fourth to Tadgh. That form does look to read well for mine and with upside/progression, she’s in with a shout.

9 Champagne Jenni (Bet Now: $12.00) is the each way bet for mine. This filly resumes for Alex Rae, having not raced since Sep 26 at Geelong when a fair way back but liked the way she closed off late in the piece behind Sweet Justice. Looks to have jumped out very well for the return and should be strong late.

7 Bossy Benita (Bet Now: $2.60) should appreciate a rise to 1200m on the bigger track after resuming over 1000m at Mornington when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort when second. Fitter and up in trip, I think she takes beating against these.

13 Alero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third in the Summer Flame race at Mornington. He lobbed on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite quicken well enough and battled to the line. If he gets a cheap run on speed again, he can threaten for sure.

5 Let’s Trot (Bet Now: $6.00) gets another look for me. She was too bad to be true last Thursday night here and the gear changes suggest there was a reason for the plain finale, with the Tongue Tie now being applied as well as Blinkers going on. D Lane sticks and prior efforts suggested a win was near.

4 Gala Queen (Bet Now: $1.85) looks to have returned in pretty good order and should be around the mark for Phillip Stokes after a dominant maiden win at this track/distance last time. She was first up and you’d like to think there is upside/improvement to come. Rates highly.

10 Patriot Star (Bet Now: $7.00) is capable. Matt Laurie trained filly that ran over 1200m at Mornington last time out when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat I thought behind impressive winner Sumadartson. Tricky draw but the bigger track and time to wind up should help her cause.

6 Stay Silent (Bet Now: $1.95) should be taking care of this lot. Corstens/Larkin trained gelding that is a few weeks between runs since contesting the Magic Millions maiden when off speed and worked home quite well in defeat I thought behind Hell To Pay. Back home, brings the right form and has found a relatively thin race. Keen.

12 Sugarfire (Bet Now: $7.50) should be better for the 1400m run under the belt at Seymour last start. She got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late in the piece but stayed on and was sound in defeat. Maps perfect and has home track advantage.

3 Preservator (Bet Now: $81.00) was a horse I specked at $151+ last Thursday night and bugger him for being nailed for fourth. He ran a very honest race in defeat near the speed and stuck on really well but couldn’t quite last for third. 1400m is the query but maps ideally.

2 Zoupurring (Bet Now: $2.30) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Latest run came down the straight at Flemington when back off the speed and was never really a factor behind Wolfy. Can settle forward, gets a beaut run in transit, hard to beat.

6 Jazzclub (Bet Now: $3.30) is getting towards D Day. He ran over 1300m at Geelong last time when on speed throughout and tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late in the piece behind Merrigold. He has an engine under the hood IMO to be a good horse but he’s got to show it now.

1 Orion The Hunter (Bet Now: $11.00) comes back up in trip after coming back to 1200m at Mornington last time where he found them a bit sharp and just couldn’t quite get involved when down the track behind Written Bligh. Back up in trip and a kind map, he’s an improver at odds.

9 Vaderlee (Bet Now: $8.00) each way for me in the get out. Simon Zahra trained three year old that ran over 1400m here three weeks ago where he got off speed and was chasing from a fair way out but kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat behind Macedon Rose. Like him up in trip and fitter, he’ll do me.

5 Gawnski (Bet Now: $4.20) looks to have returned well and commands respect for Jason Warren. He resumed at Kilmore where he got into a decent spot on the fence before angling clear and loomed to win but just found one better in Savilia. Better for the run and up to the mile, he takes beating.

4 Brandnu Deal (Bet Now: $7.50) is a key threat. Not sure he beat much at Camperdown last time but he spanked them, won by a space and won in solid time, seemingly with improvement to come. Tricky draw but off the return, I say he commands respect.

LONG SHOT: Race Three Number 12 Swing Low
