Race One (12:12) : Bracken Ridge Tavern The Phoenix 1350m:

Back Me: 4 Snitzepeg (Bet Now: $2.60) is three weeks between runs since racing in the Sires at Morphettville where he didn’t get the greatest amount of luck in the straight when appearing to have something to offer behind Time Awaits. This looks a winnable race and he should take some beating.
Big Danger: 1 Pardoe (Bet Now: $4.00) has been a revelation for Tony Sears in recent times. He has progressed from a Warwick winner to a Stakes winner, and that Stakes win came last time out where he toughed it out strongly. Overall, this doesn’t appear a strong race, and he has the runs on the board.
Long Shot: 7 Wirraway (Bet Now: $41.00)could be a knockout chance here at odds. Handy type for the Wood/Gesler yard who ran at Ipswich last time out where he didn’t look happy at all around the tight circuit but finished off okay. Should improve with therun under the belt and will be better on the bigger track. He could be a big improver here.

Race Two (12:47) : JRA Bill Carter Stakes 1200m:

Back Me: Pretty confident that 1 Dream Kisses (Bet Now: $12.00) can go close here. Smart filly for the O’Dea camp who has had two runs back from a break and each time she has faced a shifty/heavy track, though she wasn’t beaten far last time out in the Oxlade behind Pardoe. Back onto a firmer surface will aid her cause and she should be at peak fitness now.
Big Danger: 4 Cellargirl (Bet Now: $5.00) is the big watch here. Smart filly that is first up for the Kelly Schweida camp. Created a big impression in her first prep during the Summer and was touted as a Magic Millions contender but was ridden too close behind Houtzen. Trial win was outstanding and she is a definite market watch.
Long Shot: 5 Lady Lark (Bet Now: $12.00) is a talented filly that is resuming for the Desleigh Forster yard. Ran some really good races during the Autumn and was always thereabouts without being a star. Comes here off the back of no trials, and on debut in her lone first up attempt, she was explosive. 1200m first up looks ideal.

Race Three (13:22) : City Property Services Spear Chief Handicap 1630m:

Back Me: 13 Payroll (Bet Now: $6.00) on top for me here. Quality mare for the Laming yard who resumed over 1350m here three weeks back where she got a mile out of her ground yet worked home very strongly late behind Maternal. Up to the mile second up looks perfect and her run second up against the pattern was very good.
Big Danger: 4 Berry Delicious (Bet Now: $6.00) is a quality mare for Jason Coyle who has been very good in two runs back from a break. Worked home with purpose first up behind Cannyescent, who went on to win at Sandown next start. She then ran over 1500m at Rosehill and looked the winner for a few moments but was bloused nearer the inside by Invinzabeel. Hasn’t won for a while but she gets a great chance here.
Long Shot: 12 Pindan Pearl (Bet Now: $21.00) is a beautifully bred mare for Tony Gollan who comes through the Members Cup here three weeks back where she did a bit of work from the sticky draw and just couldn’t quite let down behind the in form Toowoomba galloper Cantbuybetter. She should be close to peak fitness now and is a definite threat.

Race Four (14:00) : Pages Event Equipment Hire PJ O’Shea Stakes 2200m:

Back Me: 1 Preferment (Bet Now: $3.50) is the unknown here. High class stayer for Chris Waller who was excellent when resuming in the Hollindale given the tempo was against him and he didn’t get much room. Dodged the Doomben Cup due to the wet track, so he does have the fresh legs as well as class/quality.
Big Danger: 5 Single Gaze (Bet Now: $3.00) is a ripping mare for the Nick Olive yard. She went close in the Hollindale when second to It’s Somewhat before going to the Doomben Cup where she did work near the speed and hit the front soon after straightening but she just tired late when sixth to Sense Of Occasion. 2200m looks okay and handles a wet track.
Long Shot: 2 Cylinder Beach (Bet Now: $8.00) could be the knockout horse here. He did run in the Doomben Cup and though beaten convincingly, he stuck on really well I thought and finished off okay behind Sense Of Occasion. He does have a fab record at Doomben and off his last start effort, the 2200m should be okay.

Race Five (14:40) : Amgrow Lightning Handicap 1000m:

Back Me: 14 Snitty Kitty (Bet Now: $4.80) is a talented filly for the Henry Dwyer who has had four runs back from a break and has been outstanding every time she has stepped out. Had confident market at Scone where she sat on speed and fought hard but just couldn’t quite finish it off and ran second to Miss Debutante. 1000m looks ideal for her and stable are lethal when on the road.
Long Shot: Pretty keen here each way on the former kiwi 7 Sir Statham (Bet Now: $16.00). Had his first run for the Kelly Doughty yard who resumed a fortnight back in the Chief De Beers where he got a mile back in the run and stuck nearer the inside where he didn’t really get a clear path but he savaged the line late. Has the run under the belt and the bigger track will be perfect.
Long Shot: Knockout chance here at odds is 13 Another Whiskey (Bet Now: $31.00). I know he can be a hard horse to follow for the Steele Ryan yard, but he is quite capable on his day and was okay in a couple of Stakes races last time in. He has had two solid trials to prepare for his return to racing, he can sprint well fresh and is drawn to park behind a couple of speed demons.

Race Six (15:20) : Ascot Green Moreton Cup 1200m:

Back Me: The old saying is forgive a good horse for one bad run, and I think that should apply with 6 Splurge (Bet Now: $7.50). He was heavily backed to win the BRC Sprint and I think just forget he went around. The tempo was slow, the track was shifty and he just never looked happy at all behind Jungle Edge, who of course franked the form. Back on a firmer surface here, and with the run under the belt, he should take some beating.
Big Danger: The horse with fresh legs here is the horse that ran third in the Stradbroke last year, 8 The Virginian (Bet Now: $6.00). He trialled up well prior to resuming in the Chief De Beers where he appreciated a hot speed in front of him and came with a brilliant finishing burst to get the win. Second up record isn’t great, but he is too good of a horse to dismiss.
Long Shot: 7 Siegfried (Bet Now: $13.00) is the pick of the local hopes. He comes through the Prime Ministers Cup at the Gold Coast a fotnight back where he was perhaps ridden a touch too aggressively by Lloyd and that left him gassed the final 75m to be nailed right on the peg by Religify. I think with more patience, he can win, and he looks a silly price.

Race Seven (15:59) : Treasury Brisbane Queensland Oaks 2400m:

Back Me: Been talking up 2 Egg Tart (Bet Now: $3.20) as the QLD Oaks winner since her win at Warwick Farm, so she’s clearly on top for me here. If she holds her form, she wins. Brilliant steer by McEvoy got her home in the SA Oaks, nailing Kenedna on the line, and the form out of that has been franked with a couple of winners coming out. Trial last week at Rosehill…lordy, they don’t trial much better than that. Keen.
Big Danger: 1 Kenedna (Bet Now: $5.50) is the obvious threat. Nearly got her Group l win in the SA Oaks but Egg Tart nailed her right on the line. Weiry then sent her to Doomben for the Roses where she was given a lovely ride by Johnny Allen and fought hard to cling on and get the win. How many times can you go to the well? They have many times, and it’s been successful.
Long Shot: 15 Mia Rosa (Bet Now: $26.00) is the knockout chance on a complete basket case of a track. She was a month between runs when racing in the Roses. She was 1400m to 2000m and despite that, I thought she ran really well behind Kenedna. She is the filly with fresh legs and gives the impression that 2200m will be perfect.

Race Eight (16:33) : IPG Marketing Solutions Helen Coughlan Stakes 1200m:

Back Me: 8 Bonny O’Reilly (Bet Now: $2.60) is a ripping mare for the Bjorn Baker yard. Two for two this time in, both coming at Rosehill. The ride got her hme first up, beating a subsequent winner before really toughing it out strongly next time out against the boys. Toughest test to date here, but she does have fresh legs and I’ll be shocked if she doesn’t measure up.
Big Danger: 15 Maraam (Bet Now: 21.00) is probably a bit out of her depth here, but she does map well and is in form for Team Snowden. Came with a well timed run to win two back at Canterbury before going to Rosehill where she just got too far back but worked home with real purpose behind Dagny. Draws to stalk the top tip, and this mare will be very strong late.
Long Shot: 11 Banda Spice (Bet Now: $61.00) is a quality mare for the Stuart Kendrick stabled that resumed in the main lead up to this, the Bright Shadow, and I thought her effort was pretty good. Didn’t look entirely happy on the wet track and was forced to do some work but I thought she stuck on well to be beaten just over two lengths. Much better on top of the ground, is a second up winner, senior rider goes on and draws the paint.
