Race One: Savanna Home Loans Plate 1100m:
Back Me: Universal Law (Best Odds: $3.80) resumed over 1200m at Belmont a couple of weeks back and charged home from near last to win and win impressively. Back in trip is a slight query, but enormous potential and he has a booming finish on him.
Big Danger: Military Reign (Best Odds: $2.25) tried very hard last start at Northam in a strong race but was no match for Joyful Hope and had to settle for second. She was scratched last weekend due to a foot injury, but if everything is ok with her here, she will take some beating.
Roughie: Fremond (Best Odds: $26.00) makes his three year old debut as a gelding after doing nothing in two runs during the Autumn. Didn’t do much in a recent barrier trial but the form out of that has stood right up. Not sure he can win, but he is one to watch.

Race Two: Content Living Homes Handicap (60+) 1100m:
Back Me: Mississippian (Best Odds: $2.10) ran over 1200m here last weekend and was given every chance by Pike, and as soon as he loomed as the winner, he was beaten off late by Bomber Bay, who had the suck run behind him. Pike remains on and this looks a very winnable race.
Big Danger: Profit Street (Best Odds: $4.00) is a talented gelding who resumes here after stringing together two wins at Belmont during the Winter. Recent Bunbury trial was encouraging and Jason Whiting, who rode in the trial, sticks here.
Roughie: Oneofus (Best Odds: $31.00) steps up to city level after racing at Geraldton a couple of weeks back where he ran well without threatening the winner. Much harder here, but in form apprentice on board, good gate and has raced well at Ascot in the past.

Race Four: Arlec Australia Handicap (72+) 1600m:
Back Me: Special Delivery (Best Odds: $1.80) just about looks a good thing here. He ran over 1400m at Belmont last time out and stormed home late to just miss out in a thrilling three way go. Pike back on, gate one…looks the winner, especially up to the mile.
Big Danger: Halo Express (Best Odds: $5.00) was far from disgraced last time out over the Belmont mile when fifth to all the way winner Rebelson. His form has tapered off a touch since consecutive wins but he maps beautifully here.
Roughie: Tonto (Best Odds: $5.50) has been given a three week freshen up after failing to run on over 1400m at Belmont in a race where they crawled in front, which doesn’t suit him. Speed looks to be genuine, and up to the mile, he should take some beating.

Race Five: LWP Property Group Handicap (60+) 2200m:
Back Me: Toppa Dawozza (Best Odds: $5.00) is a very consistent son of Mossman who is never far away from the action. He stuck to the task quite gamely over this distance at Belmont behind Who’s To Blame. He seems to be enjoying his racing and this is a very winnable race.
Big Danger: Military Service (Best Odds: $5.50) has been up for a long time but is still racing quite well. He was solid without winning last time out when fourth to my tip for the Victoria Derby, Kia Ora Koutou. Massive drop in class here and he looks well placed with the claim.
Roughie: The drop in class should suit Daneclicked (Best Odds: $26.00), who ran fifth to rising star Kia Ora Koutou last start over 2200m at Belmont, beaten 6.5L. Much easier here and isn’t badly treated at the weights after the claim.

Race Six: Scarboro Toyota Handicap (66+) 1400m:
Back Me: Neverland (Best Odds: $2.30) is a very talented mare that resumes for Grant Williams. Three starts back she beat home Delicacy, then had to settle for minor money behind that star mare and stablemate. Recent trials have been excellent and she looks a good thing.
Big Danger: Bomber Bay (Best Odds: $3.60) resumed over 1200m at Belmont and produced a brilliant finishing burst to get the job done and beat home Mississippian, who I am keen on earlier in the program. Drawn wide again, so he will get back and looked to charge late.
Roughie: Dark Musket (Best Odds: $9.00) resumed over 1200m at Belmont and worked home very strongly late to run third to Hold Your Tongue. He looks really suited up in trip and is a threat if the top tip is off her game.

Race Seven: Cradle Resources Handicap (72+) 1200m:
Back Me: Hold Your Tongue (Best Odds: $4.60) sat last in the run last time out before peeling wide on the turn and letting down powerfully to record a dominant win. He can settle closer, and that is what should eventuate from the good draw.
Big Danger: Hobart Jones (Best Odds: $5.00) won the Karrakatta last year, but he hasn’t quite gone on with it since. He ran well last start when a close second to Flying Time but the keys to him are Pike on and getting back to Ascot, where he has a lethal record.
Roughie: Sireeze (Best Odds: $18.00) drops a big in depth after running a strong fourth to Battle Hero last start. He had his chance behind the tempo, but couldn’t quite match it with them when the sprint came on. Again should get every chance and the Blinkers are on for the first time.

Race Eight: Muscular Dystrophy WA Handicap (66+) 1800m:
Back Me: The Forgotten One (Best Odds: $5.00) is a progressive stayer for Adam Durrant who has won his past two starts in impressive fashion, the latest being over the mile at Belmont. Month between runs, but he is in the right stable and this race isn’t overly strong.
Big Danger: Illuminated (Best Odds: $1.85) is an up and comer for Grant Williams who spanked his rivals last time out over the Belmont mile, leading all the way to win by over five lengths. Drawn wide, so it will be interesting to see what Pike does. Regardless, he is a leading chance.
Roughie: Dabang (Best Odds: $26.00) could be an improver at huge odds here. He has a great record at this track/distance and now being fourth up from a break, he should be just about ready to show something. Place chance for mine.
