Rosehill will host a nine race meeting on Saturday on Coolmore Classic day. There are some fantastic races on the card and probably none more so than the Canterbury Stakes where we get to see two stable stars Pierro and More Joyous race each other for the first time in a star studded field which includes Newmarket Handicap runner up Moment Of Change.

Race One: Bacardi Stakes 1100m Form Guide
Back Me: Hot Snitzel is very good first up. She wont the Royal Sovereign Stakes last year beaten Manawanui before contesting and being competitive over the spring in Melbourne. Looks well suited in this tough race.
Don’t Back Me: Didntcostalot won last start but this looks a much tougher race. Meets some very good horses at similar weights and could be outclassed.
Big Danger: Despite the drift in the market i still think Hidden Warrior is the biggest danger in the race and always runs well first up in a preparation.
Roughie: Welkom Gold gets into the weights well and is likely to go to the lead in the race and will be hard to get past at double figure odds.

Race Two: Moet & Chandon Stakes 1200m Form Guide
Back Me: In what looks to be a two horse race im going for Villa Verde due to the better odds in the market. She beat Overreach first time they meet and i think she can do it again.
Don’t Back Me: Any of the runners outside the two in the market.
Big Danger: Overreach looks the danger in the race and i expect these two to be fighting out the finish.
Roughie: Go Again looks the obvious horse to run third in the race but i doubt he can beat either of the favourites.

Race Three: Sky High Stakes 1900m Form Guide
Back Me: Julienas went back in a slowly run race last start and battled on well. Will be much better suited at Rosehill in a race which should have more tempo and at $10 looks great value.
Don’t Back Me: Le Roi will be having his toughest test to date on Saturday and despite his record i will be leaving him out.
Big Danger: Hoylonny is the horse to beat in the race. He was good in his last run behind Bello who came out and won the Newcastle Newmarket on Wednesday which was a good race.
Roughie: At the odds i think its worthwhile adding Sanagas into your selections at $51.

Race Four: Todman Stakes 1200m Form Guide
Back Me: Whiskey Allround should arguably still be unbeaten from four starts with an unlucky run last time out. It is a very tough race but at $5 he looks the best odds with some quires around the other runners.
Don’t Back Me: Criterion won the Black Opal last start and has opened right in the market. I just dont think its the best form heading into this race and im happy to leave him out.
Big Danger: Fast ‘n’ Rocking was very good in the Blue Diamond Stakes and despite him not having won from four starts i still think he is the biggest danger in the race.
Roughie: Never Can Tell didn’t handle the heavy going last start so you can put a line through that, and before that he beat Whittington who has come out and won impressively since. He looks good value at $9

Race Five: Phar Lap Stakes 1500m Form Guide
Back Me: High Shot i thought was one of the better runs in the Australian Guineas in which he didn’t get much luck. Is currently a $12 chance here and looks a very good each way bet against some horses trying to find some form.
Don’t Back Me: Punters have been waiting for Albrecht to return to his best but perhaps that is behind him, he could bounce back in Sydney but at the odds he is a risk.
Big Danger: Ashokan’s run at Canberra was very good and he gets in the weights much better here. Will make his own luck and be hard to beat.
Roughie: Indianapolis has a great second up record and is a talented galloper on his day. Will get an easy run from barrier 1 and could finish off over the top of them.

Race Six: Ranvet Stakes 2000m Form Guide
Back Me: Fiveandahalfstar has returned very well this preparation and has run three very good seconds two of which were to Super Cool. He gets into the Ranvet Stakes with 54kg and it looks very hard for any other runners to beat him with 2.5-5kg pull in the weights.
Don’t Back Me: Manighar opened as equal favourite in the Chipping Norton Stakes but never fired a shot. If you look at his record his second up run has never been better than his first run and with the continued support for him he looks under the odds.
Big Danger: Silent Achiever ran well in the Chipping Norton and comes into this race at the same weight’s and looks the major threat to the favourite.
Roughie: I thought Gatewood’s run in the Chipping Norton Stakes was quite good and will definitely improve from it and at $21 looks a good each way bet here.

Race Seven: Coolmore Classic 1500m Form Guide
Back Me: Appearance is a very talented galloper and she has shown that by beating the likes of Secret Admirer last preparation. She worked home well last start and drops 3kg from that run and at $12 can be backed each way.
Don’t Back Me: Steps In Time beat a few of the good chances in this race but that race was much better suited for her and the extra distance here is a concern plus she will have to overcome barrier 15.
Big Danger: You can put a line through Bennetta’s last start. She gets into the Coolmore with a great pull in the weights and will have a good run in transit from barrier 8 and looks the horse to beat.
Roughie: Pear Tart should get all the favours from barrier 3 and her run behind Steps In Time i thought was good. She drops 3kg here and looks a good each way chance.

Race Eight: Canterbury Stakes 1300m Form Guide
Back Me: Pierro is an up and coming star and goes into the Canterbury Stakes with the minimum weight. He will make his own luck from barrier 6 and be very hard to beat.
Don’t Back Me: I’ll be the first person to say Moment Of Change should have won the Newmarket Handicap. Although i dont think it was a very good edition of the race shown by Aeronautical running third. He has been heavily backed and looks way under the odds.
Big Danger: More Joyous is all class and is very good first up. She only carries 57kg and looks the immediate danger to Pierro in what is set to be a fantastic race.
Roughie: Secret Admirer always runs well first up and if they put the pressure on up front she will be finishing off strongly down the outside at $31.

Race Nine: Apn Outdoor 1200m Form Guide
Back Me: Australian Star i feel is coming out of stronger races than the rest of the field and looks a very good bet in the last at $15 with the favourite being way too short.
Don’t Back Me: Senta De Noche is way too short in the race. Yes he has won three from three but finds a much tougher field and will be jumping from barrier 11.
Big Danger: Ying La won well last start and drops in weight from that run. Has drawn a good barrier and could run over the top of them late.
Roughie: Raceway has been disappointing in his last two starts but last preparation he was racing against some very good horses. could bounce back at $31.

Best Bet: Fiveandahalfstar looks like the best bet of the day at Rosehill on Saturday despite running against a good field. He has been very consistant this preparation and he gets into the weights very well against the older horses.
Next Best: Whiskey Allround i feel should be 4 from 4 although after an unlucky run last start his perfect record was broken but that means better value for us on Saturday.
Best Roughie: There looks to be some good value races on Saturday but High Shot i feel is the best roughie of the day and will go very close at double figure odds.
