A strong card of racing will be run and won at Belmont this Saturday, where the feature race is the $100,000 Listed Idyllic Prince Stakes (1300m). The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race One (12:29pm) : Westspeed Plate 1200m: Form Guide
Back Me: Simple. Back Senso (Best Odds: $2.40). His win last week was effortless, and he really should win this with ease again.
Big Danger: London Line (Best Odds: $1.95) resumed a couple of weeks back and worked home very strongly from near last to run second to the well above average Hot Goods. He’d beat this field up easily had it not been for Senso. Should run a strong second.
Roughie: Loopy’s Ladies (Best Odds: $4.40) is also on the seven day back up after racing well over this track/distance. He looked the winner on the turn but he was simply no match for impressive winner It’s Dynamite. Doubt he can win here, but he can run in a trifecta spot.

Race Two (1:08pm) : Westspeed Stayers’ Bonus Handicap (78+) 2100m: Form Guide
Back Me: I think Justin Warwick will win the race. It’s just a matter of picking the right one, and I’ll go with the one with upside, which lies with Black Uma (Best Odds: $5.50), who ran over this track/distance first up and attempted to lead all the way and he kicked very strongly but just felt the pinch late to run third to Drive West. He should improve sharply off that and looks the one to beat.
Big Danger: Drive West (Best Odds: $4.00) has won his past two in impressive fashion, most notably last start where he was three wide on the speed for the final 1000m yet took the lead at the top of the straight and won with real authority. Won’t get far away from the inside gate and looks well placed to make it three on the trot.
Roughie: Dubai Escapade (Best Odds: $4.40) is a ripper who is never far away from the action. He strung together two wins before racing here a fortnight back and working home strongly from near last to run second to Mystic Prince, who is the in form stayer in Perth at the moment. He is the clear class runner here, and gets in well at the weights after the claim for Jordan Turner.

Race Three (1:48pm) : Perth Racing Become A Member Today Handicap (78+) 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: Looks a two horse race between Madassa and Zuccheros (Best Odds: $3.50), and I’ll lean with the latter, who has the fitness edge and ripping recent winning form, winning his past two. He should get a charmed run just behind the tempo, and with the fitness edge over Madassa, I’ll go with Zuccheros.
Big Danger: Madassa (Best Odds: $2.00) resumes here after a two month spell, where he put together two wins in very impressive fashion, both over this track/distance. He is a noted speedster and probably should lead here. Last 50m will be the test, but he has the in form rider aboard and loves Belmont.
Roughie: Rebel King (Best Odds: $4.20) can easily bounce back here. He contested the Belmont Newmarket and really struggled on the wet track when finishing last of six behind talented type Wink And A Nod. Drops big time in class here, and though Pike jumps off, Jordan Turner is a very good apprentice and the firmer track should suit him perfectly.

Race Four (2:28pm) : Amelia Park Handicap (72+) 1400m: Form Guide
Back Me: Mad Brad (Best Odds: $1.85) ran here a couple of weeks back and looked a little unlucky I thought when running a close second to classy mare Ideal Image, but Mad Brad could have easily won had he got a clear run throughout the straight. He should get the gun run from a good draw and looks so well suited at the weights after the claim.
Big Danger: Stepping up to 1400m should suit World Trader (Best Odds: $7.00), who has raced over 1300m at his past two starts, and his last start effort caught my eye. He was left flat footed at the top of the straight and looked as though he was going to run last but he picked up late and was strong through the line. Tumbles down to 53kg here, and though drawn wide, he looks a main danger.
Roughie: Dabang (Best Odds: $18.00) is a stayer that resumes here for Brian Kersley, and he was outstanding last prep, stringing together a number of consistent runs, including a couple of wins. His best form is at around 2000m, but he did look sharp in a recent trial win. Could run a beauty fresh here.

Race Five (3:08pm) : Idyllic Prince Stakes 1300m: Form Guide
Back Me: Looks to be Wink And A Nod‘s (Best Odds: $2.30) race to lose. She scored a dominant win last time out in the Belmont Newmarket, sitting off the speed before peeling out and though she took a couple of strides to wind up, she was excellent over the final 100m and was outstanding. Near identical field here, and really should beat these.
Big Danger: Cool Trade (Best Odds: $4.00) ran a close up second to Wink And A Nod in the Belmont Newmarket. Cool Trade sat outside the speed and looked to be cruising on the turn, and even though she did kick on very strongly, she couldn’t hold out the finishing burst of the winner. Third up now, so she should be cherry ripe fitness wise and looks the only threat.
Roughie: Rock Magic (Best Odds: $10.00) sat last in the run in the Belmont Newmarket and wasn’t suited by the slow tempo and had to settle for fifth to Wink And A Nod. He does draw better here, so hopefully he can sit closer to the speed, plus he is far better on top of the ground. I doubt he can win, but he should improve from last start.

Race Six (3:48pm) : Rowdy McGowan Handicap (66+) 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: Putting Woolibar (Best Odds: $5.00) on top. He is on the quick back up after racing last Saturday where he pulled up with the thumps after running third to Petrol Power, where he just pulled his head off outside the leader. With better racing manners, and no more thumps, he should take some beating.
Big Danger: Agachar Cruz (Best Odds: $5.00) ran over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and worked home strongly late but couldn’t quite go on with it when third to Bourne Supremacy, beaten 0.75L. Drawn to get the gun run here and looks the one to beat.
Roughie: Travellin’ (Best Odds: $5.00) has won his past two starts over this track/distance, and on both occasions he has been quite dominant, most notably last start when sitting 1/1 throughout and doing his thing over the final furlong. He can handle the rise in grade.

Race Seven (4:23pm) : Tabtouch Win Today Collect Today Handicap (60+) 2100m: Form Guide
Back Me: Ultimate Success (Best Odds: $11.00) has been hot and cold this time in. He has run well without winning but he was a touch disappointing last start here when seventh to Drive West, but trainer Adam Durrant told stewards that the horse may not have handled the seven day back up, so he has had three weeks off since last start and back on a firmer surface should see him be right in the finish.
Big Danger: The Director (Best Odds: $4.80) steps up to 2100m after two runs over the Pinjarra mile, including a win and a closing third last time out. Little query on running the trip, but this is a very thin race and both trainer and jockey are in white hot form.
Roughie: Spondula (Best Odds: $13.00) ran over this track/distance last Wednesday and stuck to the task gamely when third to Holy Sky, though I will say he did have his chance. Harder here but he should get a sweet trip near the speed and could fill a place.

Race Eight (4:58pm) : Tabtouch Handicap (60+) 1400m: Form Guide
Back Me: Eurosun (Best Odds: $5.00) ran over this track/distance two weeks ago and worked home very strongly to run second to Rattlehead, beaten 0.3L. He is absolutely bursting to win a race but just seems to bump into one or two better than him. But I’ll hope he can greet the judge.
Big Danger: Big Clipper (Best Odds: $8.00) is a former Gai Waterhouse runner who has had two runs now in WA. He sat wide first up and plugged away before racing over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and stuck on alright for fourth to Rattlehead. He should be near peak fitness and should take some beating with Pike aboard.
Roughie: Phantom Choice (Best Odds: $7.50) is a very consistent type who put together three very impressive wins before racing here a fortnight back and was given every chance by Natasha Faithfull but had to settle for third to Rattlehead. Draws well again and should be around the mark somewhere.
