The big6 for New South Wales punters on Wednesday has a $6,00 jackpot which should entice some punters into having a crack. The six legs are on races 2-7 at Warwick Farm. Here is my $20 strategy.

Form Guide

Leg 1 – I can only see three realistic winning hopes here. Essence Of Success was given a lovely ride by Nash to win last start. Gun kiwi apprentice Jason Collett takes over and that is no disadvantage. Capital Commander is a very honest filly for Nick Olive. Tried her heart out last start on the Acton circuit at Canberra and although she steps up in grade, the field she is up against isn’t overly strong. Royal Feeling battled away well second up at Randwick and looks perfectly placed here for Bart Cummings and Ibrahim Gundogdu.

Leg 2 – Another of these very open juvenile races. Ruby Love was good on debut behind Queen Cleopatra and should be helped by the firmer track. Scorpio Queen was very impressive on debut. First up here but has trialled nicely leading up to this. Conferre has trialled ok for Gai Waterhouse, but expect this daughter of Encosta De Lago to be primed for a debut win. Lightens has shown ability in trials and Guy Walters juveniles are flying at present. One at value might be Rena. She sits on the speed and fights hard all the way. If she gets a start, she is the smokey.

Leg 3 – I have settled on three runners. Chilliad was very impressive on debut after settling back, was pushed very wide on the home turn before hitting the line hard late. She looks to be a major player. Rock To The Left has looked very good in recent barrier trials and has the Tulloch lodge polish. One to look at a price might be Flying Charlie. Formerly with Lee Freedman, now with the Amanda Turner & Mauro Poletti. Showed ability in his first prep before being sent to Sydney. Has had the lone trial to prepare for this and it was solid enough to suggest he might do something here.

Leg 4 – This looks to be a competitive staying race. Mikiyama has been impressive in his first campaign in Australia. Rock hard fit and Nash sticks with him. The Stewards room gave Merchandise his first win in Australia last week at Canterbury. One thing in his favour is that he has more upside here than most. Moderna couldn’t pick herself up in the slop last start. A firmer track and the rise to 2400m third up may spark some much needed improvement. Footstepsinthedust looked hopeless in the slop at Gosford last week. Look for a much better run here on his home track.

Leg 5 – It was hard to ignore Turf Hero’s booming win last start at Kembla Grange. Will need luck from barrier 14 but Nash rides and this race lacks depth. Shot Putt has won 14 from 61, including an easy win at Hawkesbury last start. Only has to carry 53.5kg here after the claim. Third Man has been freshened up for this and looked good in a recent barrier trial. Earnest Ernest has looked ok in three runs in Australia since coming from New Zealand. Looks well placed in his debut city run. Pacquio is first up, but looks ready to win first up judging by his sharp trial win. Pass The Parcel was hailed the winner before being grabbed on the line last start. A firmer track will help her big time.

Leg 6 – Recorrido is going really well for the Joe Pride yard. Toyed with her rivals last start at Canterbury and no reason why she can’t do it again. Be brave and stand her out.

Leg 1: 1, 2, 5

Leg 2: 2, 3, 5, 9, 17

Leg 3: 2, 5, 11

Leg 4: 2, 4, 5, 9

Leg 5: 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11

Leg 6: 9

A $20 investment = 1.85% of the dividend if successful
