Racing continues at Randwick this Saturday, and despite the Carnival being done and dusted, the depth looks very good once again. The weather is overcast, the track is soft (7) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

Race One (13:00) : #theraces Handicap (72) 1400m:

Back Me: 2 Invincibella (Bet Now:  $3.70) ran sixth behind Niccolance here two weeks ago and I think just forget she went around given she was tucked in behind the speed and on the rail, which didn’t appear to suit her. She is best when she’s outside runners and has the last say. A bounce back is on the cards if that eventuates.
Big Danger: 3 Chapelco (Bet Now:  $2.50) had pretty good support at odds when debuting on his home track at Warwick Farm and that move proved spot on as he sat on speed and kicked on strongly to get the job done. The only form to come out of that has held up pretty well, and this isn’t a strong race.
Roughie: 4 Walk Right (Bet Now:  $4.60) In ran a couple of Wednesday’s back at Canterbury where he sat back off speed and ran on nicely late to run second to Super Maxi, who failed with excuses in the Brian Crowley. He can threaten for sure if he gets things to suit.

Race Two (13:35) : TAB Highway Handicap (Class 3) 1000m:

Back Me: 1 Bulls ‘N’ Bears (Bet Now:  $4.40) started favourite in an open handicap on his home track at Tamworth a couple of weeks back and fought on pretty well in what looked a handy race when fourth to Specific Choice. He is a previous Highway winner and looks pretty well in at the weights after the claim. Hard to beat.
Big Danger: 7 You’re Kidding Me (Bet Now:  $5.50) resumed in a Highway at this track/distance and worked home well behind subsequent Doomben winner Hanwritten before going to Hawkesbury where he was wide no cover for the trip. He can definitely bounce back here.
Roughie: 4 Angus Rock (Bet Now:  $19.00) is a handy galloper from Wagga Wagga that resumes here for the Donnelly yard. He ran well in a Highway at Rosehill during the Summer before racing okay in three subsequent runs. Two trials leading in have been okay and you have to respect the fact they’re coming to town fresh.

Race Three (14:10) : Geohex Sprint (76) 1000m:

Back Me: 9 Nieta (Bet Now:  $2.80) put together two very sharp wins to kick off her Winter prep before really struggling on a bottomless Warwick Farm surface. That was in late August so she has been given a freshen up and she look to trial well on September 30 at Randwick. She is definitely Blacktype class if placed right, and this is a good starting point, especially with the claim for Nick Heywood.
Big Danger: 7 Rose Of Man (Bet Now:  $4.60) has been given a freshen up since racing over 1100m at Rosehill where she got back to near last in the run and finished off strongly late when sixth to Highly Geared, beaten 1.6L. She does sprint well fresh and the run prior, she ran fourth to Southern Legend here. That reads very well.
Roughie: 2 Eminent Duke (Bet Now:  $31.00) was completely unwanted in betting when resuming over this distance at Warwick Farm but he was a real eye catcher late, sitting back near last in the run and working home with purpose. Can sit much closer in the run here from the good draw, the claim helps and second up last time in he was four lengths off subsequent multiple Stakes winner Coolring.

Race Four (14:45) : TAB Rewards Handicap (85) 1200m:

Back Me: 1 Onerous (Bet Now:  $6.50) is a former Team Hawkes galloper that his first run for Chris Waller at Warwick Farm where he was a heavily backed odds on pop but just had no luck in the straight when appearing to have plenty to offer. That followed an impressive trial behind Group l performer Artistry. Has to carry the weight, but he has earned that and is a proven weight carrier.
Big Danger: 8 Reincarnate (Bet Now:  $4.40) ran over 1100m at Rosehill a couple of weeks back in what looked a hot race and worked home with purpose late when third to the well supported Sir Plush. Go back to the Autumn and he ran some really good races behind the well performed Sir Bacchus. Third up now, so he should be ready to show his best.
Roughie: The wet track certainly won’t harm 6 King’s Officer (Bet Now:  $9.00), who resumes here after being one of the really consistent performers during the Winter in Sydney, winning four on the trot in town before placing at the Randwick mile. Comes here with no trials, but he is a swimmer and has somewhat some form of residual fitness from last prep.

Race Five (15:20) : Filante Handicap 1400m:

Back Me: 5 Religify (Bet Now:  $2.80) resumed over this track/distance a fortnight back and did an enormous job to finish as close he did given he went sub 47 for the first 800m, so he had every right to drop out but he fought on to run third to Thunder Fantasy. The worry is that could be a gutbuster, but I’ll rely on Chris Waller and his touch.
Big Danger: 8 Rock Forthe Ladies (Bet Now:  $2.70) resumed over 1200m here a fortnight back and chased hard all the way down the straight when running a close up third to the in form Denpurr. Goes very well second up and though a tad suspect on a wet track, she is on the minimum and draws well.
Roughie: 4 Magicool (Bet Now:  $34.00) is such an interesting runner here. Chris Waller had him for one run in the Autumn where he finished down the track in the Doncaster Prelude. No trials leading in, so he is the complete unknown, but he is the class runner on his day. Market watch.

Race Six (15:55) : IGA Liquor Handicap (81) 2000m:

Back Me: 2 Hipparchus (Bet Now:  $3.60) was an eye catching fifth first up behind Fabrizio before racing over the track/distance two weeks ago where he raced a touch flat behind Tower Of Song. Clearly looking for further so forgive that last start failure. He is at his best when at this distance and beyond. Sharp improver.
Big Danger: 5 Ebcosta Line (Bet Now:  $3.00) comes through that Tower Of Song race where he improved sharply after an awful first up attempt. He sat on speed and gave a really good kick but was nutted near the peg. Gets a soft lead to my eye and should be cherry ripe fitness wise.
Roughie: The small field and lack of depth gives a horse like 10 Diamond Made (Bet Now:  $13.00) a knockout chance here at odds. She comes through the Angst where she sat on speed and weakened out of it behind Dixie Blossoms. Key to her is getting to a wet track and last time she was at the Randwick 2000m, she spanked them in the Adrian Knox, beating home a subsequent Caulfield winner Alaskan Rose.

Race Seven (16:35) : Mares Handicap (75) 1400m:

Back Me: 7 Hermosa Beach (Bet Now:  $8.50) was very good in defeat two back at Warwick Farm behind Galaxy Warrior before going to Canberra where she looked a good thing on paper and ran accordingly, bolting home. She can measure up at Saturday level, plus she has upside.
Big Danger: 2 Circular (Bet Now:  $7.00) ran at Warwick Farm last time out where she sat back near last in the run and closed off well late in the piece when third to Sort After. The second horse was Euro Angel and she bolted up in a Stakes race at Caulfield so that form reads so well.
Roughie: 14 Shotgun Roulette was storming home two back at Taree over 1250m before stepping up to 1500m at Rosehill where she was ridden perhaps a touch too close to the speed when second to Distinctive Look. I think ridden a touch further back, she will be more effective, and if that eventuates, she is a serious winning chance.

Race Eight (17:20) : Capital Bluestone Handicap (85) 1600m:

Back Me: 2 Happy Hannah (Bet Now:  $5.50) looks one of the better bets on the program. I thought she was very good in defeat at this track/distance last start in the Angst when sitting back in the run and finishing off strongly behind Dixie Blossoms. The issue with her is I think she is looking for further aka the 2000m mares race on the final day of Cup Week, but this just looks a lovely race.
Big Danger: 7 More To Gain (Bet Now:  $6.00) ran a few weeks back over 2000m at Rosehill where he was supported in betting and worked to the line with purpose late behind Antonio Giuseppe. Back to 1600 and the break between runs is a worry given he does seem a bit better over further, but he’s in ripping form.
Roughie: 9 Meiner Freccia (Bet Now:  $11.00) showed an electric turn of foot to win first up at Hawkesbury before going to Warwick Farm where he was ridden close to the speed, which probably isn’t his go, but Avdulla lifted him over the line. Randwick mile looks ideal and I think he will be more effective ridden with cover and having the last say.

Race Nine (17:55) : Schweppes Handicap (78) 1400m:

Back Me: 5 Dinghu Mountain (Bet Now:  $8.00) has been given a freshen up since running midfield at Rosehill behind Extensible, with that mare running well with no luck at Stakes level next time out, so the form is okay, and has been tuned up for his return to the track with an encouraging trial last Friday. If he brings his best, he’ll go very close.
Big Danger: 13 Choice We Had (Bet Now:  $5.50) ran at the midweeks at Rosehill a few weeks ago where he sat back in the run and finished off very nicely in the piece behind Mortons Fork, who was a good thing beaten in the Gothic last week at Caulfield. He is racing so well this prep and this looks a lovely assignment.
Roughie: 9 Alfred The Great (Bet Now:  $26.00) resumed at the midweeks at Canterbury a tick over two weeks back behind Satirical Magic where he sat off speed and chased hard all the way with the big weight when running two lengths from the winner. He is a second up winner and does get some weight relief here. Definite chance.

BEST BET: Race Eight Number 2 Happy Hannah

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 5 Art D’Amour

VALUE: Race Nine Number 5 Dinghu Mountain
