Adam Page gives us his brief preview for today’s listed Darley Crown at Hawkesbury racecourse, view his full race preview and selections.
Prepared to make Kanzan a special here. Resumed in the Sapphire Stakes and was four wide on the speed and battled on really well to finish seventh, three lengths away from Hurtle Myrtle. Four starts second up for two wins and two placings, loves the wet, unbeaten at Hawkesbury, drawn well, Corey Brown riding and is weighted well. Take the best odds available because I think she is the good thing of the day.
Devils Arcade is resuming here. Had a good prep last Spring which saw her win two races and run two strong efforts before finishing seventh in the Gosford Cup behind Keepin’ The Dream. Unbeaten fresh, she has looked awesome in two recent barrier trials and expect her to be 100% ready for a first up win for Gai Waterhouse and Jay Ford. She is drawn awkwardly but she should fire across and either lead or sit outside the pace. I rate her highly.
Zingaling was an impressive winner when resuming in the Birthday Card before sitting three deep and grinding away strongly behind Hurtle Myrtle. She is another that loves the sting out of the ground and drawing wide might not be be a disadvantage by the time this race is run. She is rock hard fit and although the 57kg is a concern, I still have her right in the thick of things.
Dysphonia should have finished closer in the Sapphire after being held up on the fence in a bunched finish. Has won two of three second up and is unbeaten at the distance, but the heavy track is a worry. She does like some give, but not too much. In saying that, Peter Snowden does target this race and he’ll have all of his runners primed for a big run here so don’t rule out this one.
