The mares go around in the 2010 Myer Classic tomorrow at Flemington racecourse over 1600m and it looks to be one of the best fields of recent times, Typhoon Tracy has opened as the short priced favourite $2.10 although there are plenty of classy horses in the race including Hot Danish $9 and Yosei at $4.80.

Palacio De Cristal often misses the start in her races but she is a top class mare and at her current odds of $11 i think she is very good value and if she jumps well should be right in this, last start she won the Group 2 Blazer Stakes beating home No Evidence Needed who also lines up in this race. Will most likely settle back and be storming home late.

Second Selection:
Yosei is coming off a win in the 1000 Guineas and gets into the weights very well with only 49KG on her back, with the track conditions looking to be heavy the 7.5KG difference she carriers will be a huge bonus and has shown she is a very smart horse. Jumps from barrier two and Boss will get her in the perfect position, may be a bit more immature to the rest of the field although she should figure in this race.
Third Selection:
Typhoon Tracy has been the benchmark horse for the Mares for the past two years and the drop in class from her previous races should suit her, she has been racing against some of Australia’s best WFA horses and her run behind Zipping in the Turnbull was very good even though she finished 5th. At her current odds of $2.10 i feel she could be a risk although she is definitely the horse to beat in this class of race.
Best Roughie:
Marquardt jumps in class quite a lot in this race although at her current price of $26 i feel she is one to include, i really liked her run behind Culminate at Caulfield last start making good ground late. Hopefully she will be more use to the Victorian way of going this time and the long straight will suit. She is one to include into your multiples for some value.
