The big6 for New South Wales punters on Saturday has a $7,472 jackpot which should help the dividend if you’re successful. The six legs are the last three races at Rosehill and Moonee Valley, kicking off with race six at Rosehill. Here is my $20 strategy.
Leg 1 – No standout here and it looks hard to sort out. My Vegas was ultra impressive last start and there appears to be good speed again for him to swoop. However, he is an unlikely starter. Mumslad was too bad to be true first up given how well he trialled prior. Yoburg was solid enough at Randwick when resuming and looks well weighted. Chances also to Miss Independent, who is accepted for Moonee Valley as well, with Key West and Riebeek to be in the finish.
Leg 2 – Mid Summer Music was very good when winning first up and can go on with it here. About Ready has the claim for Dan Stackhouse and has class. Big Spirit gives 110% each start. She sits on the speed and keeps on keeping on. Rue Maple looks the big threat if they go mad in front. One of this quartet should win. Include Miss Independent if she runs here.
Leg 3 – It was bad to watch if you backed We Betcha last start. Was going to win clearly but she just couldn’t get out. Nash takes over and I’m fairly confident she will win. Loves the sting out of the ground, has an awkward barrier but she does look to be a bit better than these. More Than Royal, Divya and Justifier look the upset material.
Leg 4 – Got it between four horses here. Philda was a bit ordinary last start but he has a great record at Moonee Valley and gets his chance to win here. Mont Fleuri was game in defeat last start after carrying 59kg. Drops 8kg here and the small field helps. Looks well placed by Lee Freedman. Snort hasn’t won for three years but his effort last start at this track and distance suggests that he might turn back the clock. Finishing Card missed the kick and never fired in the Mildura Cup as a well backed favourite. Loves the wet ground and is on the limit for Froggy Newitt.
Leg 5 – Another quartet of runners should fight this out. Bone Of Contention is a former kiwi making his Aussie debut for Gai and Nash. Was very consistent in his homeland before making to switch to Tulloch Lodge. Trials have been good and looks a leading player. He is $13 with Tab Sportsbet but expect that to trim up. Zakynthos Imprintz loves wet tracks and his second up record is very good. Should get a nice run midfield and power home late. Huckleberry Friend was scratched from Randwick last Saturday for this and he should get the cosy run. Bereft was something licked first up before a poor run at Scone. The pace was against him last start but he worked home well. Needs the speed on and if it is, look out.
Leg 6 – Second Effort looks the safe way to seal the deal for punters here. Has been very good at his past three and he still looks to have improvement in him. Stand him out and cheer him home.
Leg 1: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9
Leg 2: 1, 2, 4, 6
Leg 3: 3, 10, 12, 13
Leg 4: 3, 4, 6, 10
Leg 5: 3, 6, 8, 11
Leg 6: 7
A $20 investment = 1.3% of the dividend if successful
