Seven races will be run and won at Cranbourne this Saturday night. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out nine metres for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (17:19) Nzb Karaka 2025 Mdn Plate 1600m
9 Rose Diamond (Bet Now: $4.50) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. She was on speed over this trip at Cranbourne last start and she was there to win but just found one better. Lands on speed here, should get a comfortable run and take beating.
4 Psychotic (Bet Now: $12.00) is knocking on the door for Team Yargi. He ran over 1500m in a Mornington maiden last time when near the speed throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when a close up third to Eagle Express. Maps to get a sweet run in transit and finds a winnable race.
1 Bitta Bon Magic (Bet Now: $8.00) should be better for the debut run, which came over 1300m at Echuca. He got into a decent spot off speed and presented to win but couldn’t quite finish the job. That said, he was far from disgraced in defeat. Up to the mile I like and is one for exotics.
Race 2. (17:51) Frankston Sand Soil & Mini Mix Mdn Plate 1300m
7 Amberina (Bet Now: $61.00) is working up to a win and I think it could easily come here. She ran over 1200m here two weeks ago when off speed and although held up at times, she was out early enough to threaten and did a good job in defeat when fourth. Maps to get run of the race and be strong at the end.
8 Chase Your Dreams (Bet Now: $2.40) looks to have returned in pretty good order and is one of the key chances off the back of a first up run over 1300m at Echuca when off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat when third to Boulder Jack. Fitter, race with not much depth, he rates highly.
10 Jenni The Fox (Bet Now: $3.80) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Ciaron Maher, she now finds herself with Alex Rae, a stable that is pretty good when it comes to tried horses. Her trial/jumpout work has been more than encouraging and despite the wide gate, I say she commands respect.
Race 3. (18:20) Grand Ridge Arenas Mdn Plate 1000m
2 Surperb Frosta (Bet Now: $15.00) is ready to rock and roll on debut. Michael Mehegan trained son of Frosted that is on debut off the back of a couple of jumpout wins this time in where each time he has been pretty good to the eye and ran decent time. Bred to appreciate further but he has shown zip in the jumpouts, enough for me to say he can make a winning debut.
1 Box Office (Bet Now: $2.05) comes back to 1000m after resuming over 1100m at Wangaratta when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a solid kick but had no answers late for stablemate and impressive debut winner Persian Caviar. Fitter and back in trip, good racing style, he’ll take running down.
10 Simply Foxy (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a daughter of Foxwedge that is on debut for Mick Huglin. Her jumpout work has been nothing to jumping up and down about, but this stable can get them ready for start one and despite the wide gate, I say watch the market and see what it does.
Race 4. (18:50) Hertz Hcp (C1) 1000m
1 Speir (Bet Now: $1.55) should take care of these. Jack Laing trains this Lord Of The Sky gelding, who has been pretty good in two career outings. Ran second to talented type Berzerka on debut at Caulfield Heath before going to Mornington where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted. Think he finds the top and from there, will be much too good I say.
4 Devil Man (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Hellbent that resumes for Danny O’Brien. He is first up, having not raced since Sep 15 at Seymour when racing over 1300m. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a solid kick but just couldn’t quite see it through. Back to the short course, impressive trial work, he’s a market watch for sure.
6 Beaunified (Bet Now: $12.00) is a Michael Trotter trained gelding that comes back to 1100m after racing over 1100m at Stony Creek last time out when on speed throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when third to Foxyboy. Back to 1000m, good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.
Race 5. (19:20) Skye Excavations (Bm64) 1200m
3 Sign From Above (Bet Now: $27.00) is the each way play for me here. He resumed over 1200m at Caulfield Heath where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never threatening, he found the line well enough in defeat I thought behind Better Link. Good second up record and back miles in depth, I think he’s a great each way gamble.
7 Electric Tommy (Bet Now: $2.15) is a big watch here. Team Freedman trained gelding that resumes off the back of a debut win at Moe on Sep 30 when off the speed and trucking before being clicked up and he dashed late to win and win well. His jumpout work has been strong, he’s a definite market watch.
2 Grid Girl (Bet Now: $8.00) looks to be going really well in readiness for her return for Team Hayes. This girl is first up, having not raced since April 20 at Mornington when midfield in the Guineas behind Dual Pressure. Given a good break and her jumpout work at Flemington has been sharp. Leading contender.
Race 6. (19:50) Shawn Mendis Lawyers (Bm64) 1600m
3 Awesome Lineup (Bet Now: $2.05) has found winning form and he can go on with it. Son of Awesome Rock that was a track/distance winner from two weeks ago. He got into a beaut spot near the speed. Just a matter of being clicked up and once that eventuated, away he went and he was dominant. Hard to beat against these.
5 Think Winning (Bet Now: $4.50) is racing like a rise to the mile will suit for Julius Sandhu. He ran over 1400m here a fortnight back where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line in a good effort behind Rich Lover. Up to 1600m suits and is one of the key threats.
6 Mishika (Bet Now: $13.00) is on the quick back up for Luke Oliver after racing at Cranbourne on Saturday night. She got into a decent spot off the speed and presented to win when asked by Jennings but she couldn’t quite finish it off. Gets Winkers on to sharpen her up and despite the wide gate, she commands respect as a knockout hope.
Race 7. (20:20) Ladbrokes Racing Club (Bm70) 1400m
11 Four Ace (Bet Now: $16.00) for me in the get out. Son of Brutal for Team Hayes that resumes. He hasn’t raced since a win on Aug 9 at Geelong, giving them a start and a beating to win over 1300m. Fresh at 1400m signals intent and has jumped out well leading in. Hard to beat against these I say.
2 Call Him Iggy (Bet Now: $4.00) is a key threat. This gelding resumed with a strong win at Seymour over 1200m before going to 1400m at Geelong where he was near the speed throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when fourth to Capricorn Star. Tricky draw but commands respect.
3 Slane (Bet Now: $26.00) is a local gelding that resumes and I think is quite dangerous against these. He is first up, having not raced since June 22 over the mile at Morphettville when doing early work to lead and that burn just told on him late in the piece. He goes well on the fresh side and has jumped out nicely.
