A really strong eight race card will be run and won at Morphettville on Saturday, where the feature race is the Durbridge Stakes (1200m). The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out six metres from the 1200m-400m; Out five metres for the remainder.

Race One (13:33) : Akeed Mofeed @ Goldin Farms Handicap (82) 2500m:

Back Me: 4 Dane Hussler (Bet Now: $3.00) has been pretty good in two runs back from a break for the Hayes/Dabernig yard. She ran a close up third behind Name The Day last time out where she stuck to the task very well. She will be advantaged by the spacious surroundings of the course proper and has upside.
Big Danger: 3 Azurite (Bet Now: $4.20) ran over 2400m on the Parks track last time out where he bolted to the lead on the turn and looked the winner, but the eventual winner Not So Lady Like burst through underneath him to grab victory. The winner did have a 4.5kg weight swing and just had the better turn of foot. Very winnable race here and he has found some form.
Roughie: 1 Flying Casino (Bet Now: $7.50) ran down the track behind Not So Lady Like and I think just forgive and forget he went around given the pace was very slow and for a horse carrying 59kg, that is a tough ask. I also think back onto the course proper will really aid his cause. He can certainly bounce back.

Race Two (14:08) : MAC Drink Driving? GROW UP Handicap (75) 1200m:

Back Me: 2 Double Pockets (Bet Now: $11.00) ran over this distance on the Parks track two weeks ago where he had market support late at odds, and despite sitting wide no cover for the trip, he was far too good for his rivals. Stable is going really well at the moment, headlined by this horse, and now that he has winning form, he can certainly go on with it.

Big Danger: 6 Battle Brewing (Bet Now: $4.20) is a talented galloper that resumes for the in form Macdonald/Gluyas yard. He contested some really good races during the Carnival, most of which came at Stakes level. No trials leading in, but he certainly has the class and quality to beat these.
Roughie: 1 It And A Bit (Bet Now: $17.00) resumed in a handy race at Strathalbyn a tick under two weeks back and looked a bit unlucky not to finish closer behind Important. He got cluttered away between runners and then when clear, he had to duck back to the inside, which was clearly the inferior ground. He has a really good second up record and should be around the mark with better luck in running.

Race Three (14:43) : UBET Handicap (70) 1050m:

Back Me: 3 Cayman Dayze (Bet Now: $4.00) is a talented filly that resumes for the Michael Hickmott stable. She raced twice during the Autumn, winning on both occasions, the latest coming during the Oakbank Carnival. I thought she looked outstanding in a trial last week here behind Bullion Wolf, and she looks pretty bombproof.
Big Danger: 4 Posh Journey (Bet Now: $3.20) resumed on the Parks track a fortnight back and she just ambled to the front on the turn and looked set for victory but was nabbed near the peg by Mr Markou. She should take good improvement off that and returning to the course proper should be ideal.
Roughie: 1 Bullion Wolf (Bet Now: $4.80) resumed on August 20 on the Parks track and he was just dreadful when finishing near last behind Benz. That horse has come out to beat Stakes winners at the Valley, so that form does read okay, and his trial win here last Friday was sharp.

Race Four (15:18) : Hughes Chauffeured Limousines Maiden Plate 1200m:

Back Me: I think if 3 He Is Golden (Bet Now: $4.60) runs properly, he wins. He tried to do that on debut at Gawler where he sat on speed and cruised to the front on the turn, but then he went proper feral and was all over the shop and pretty much threw the race away. Has since trialled here last Friday and looked very good. Just wins with better racing manners.
Big Danger: 9 Sawaiki (Bet Now: $2.90) was a surprise drifter in the market when resuming in a benchmark race on the Parks track where he sat back in the run and showed a really nice turn of foot when let down, but his fitness just gave out late behind Mr Markou. Back to this level suits and he should take good benefit from the resumption.
Roughie: 10 Streets Of Dubai (Bet Now: $9.00) resumed on the Parks track three weeks ago where he sat wide most of the way and was never really a winning threat, but I didn’t mind the way he stuck on. I think he will be much better suited on the course proper and though drawn horribly, I think he is a great outside winning chance.

Race Five (15:53) : Australian International 3 Day Event Handicap (75) 1800m:

Back Me: 8 Dreadlock (Bet Now: $6.50) is on the back up after racing over the mile here last Saturday where I think he was ridden a touch too pretty by Thornton and the eventual winner had all the momentum and revved up. This horse needs to get rolling before the home turn, and I think the step up to 1800m should ensure that. He looks one of the better bets on the program.
Big Danger: 5 Kifaah (Bet Now: $2.30) was completely unwanted in betting last time out in the Inglis Cup (2000m) at Caulfield but gee he gave a huge sight and looked the winner until he was grabbed in the last couple of strides by stablemate Portion Control. Back to 1800m is perfect, back in SA and he actually drops in weight despite being significantly down in depth.
Roughie: 2 Have Plenty (Bet Now: $13.00) is one that could improve here at a price. He ran two weeks back on the Parks track when sitting back in the run and closing off okay without threatening behind Eigelstein. He has a much better record on the course proper and has upside.

Race Six (16:38) : Quayclean Handicap (64) 1600m:

Back Me: 3 Spring Action (Bet Now: $5.00) trialled well at Tatura prior to resuming at Benalla where he was kept pretty safe in the betting but he just absolutely bolted in, winning quite impressively and winning with a bit in reserve. The runner up has since won again so the form has held up, and he has enormous upside.
Big Danger: 1 Kesan (Bet Now: $4.60) got the job done in good style two back on the Parks track before racing there again where he was rated a treat in front but he just couldn’t quite hold off Eigelstein. Done bugger all in five runs on the course proper, but I think he is a much better horse now.
Roughie: 5 Otherwise Okay (Bet Now: $6.50) looked to trial very well behind Big Memory, beating Happy Trails, before he resumed at Murray Bridge where he was luckless at vital stages when third to track specialist Simpatico. He ran a really good race second up last time in on the Geelong Synthetic in what has turned out to be a good form reference. Hard to beat.

Race Seven (17:18) : Programmed Durbridge Stakes 1200m:

Back Me: 12 Benz (Bet Now: $3.60) looks so well suited at WFA here, so I am with him. He ran at the Valley on Moir Stakes night and was awesome in getting the job done given he copped a fair bit of heat on speed and had every right to drop out but he just kept finding under riding and got the job done. The time was faster than the older horses later in the night which is always a terrific pointer, and with only 53kg on his back, he’ll take a stack of beating.
Big Danger: 4 Lord Aspen (Bet Now: $8.00) is such an interesting runner here. He resumes for Mick Huxtable. He had one run during the Autumn, which came on Adelaide Cup Day here where he ran in the Matrice and was given an awful steer from Matty Neilson and the horse rightfully dropped out to run last. He has had two trials leading in, so he should be around the mark fitness wise, and on his best form, he is better than these.
Roughie: 11 Cavaloce (Bet Now: $8.50) has been freshened up since failing in the Balaklava Cup where she, like most really struggled on the bog track. Trialled last week here and looked to go about her business quite nicely I think. Not sure WFA is her go, but she has a brilliant finish on her and the speed up front should suit her racing pattern.

Race Eight (17:57) : MAC Drink Driving? GROW UP Handicap (64) 1100m:

Back Me: 9 Entrancing (Bet Now: $7.00) was well supported at her SA debut on Sunday at Gawler and she never looked like getting beat, sitting outside the speed before dashing clear at the top of the straight and winning with ease. That followed an impressive trial, so whatever Phillip Stokes is doing, it’s working.
Big Danger: 2 House Of Wax (Bet Now: $10.00) is a handy gelding that resumes here. He ran very well last time in when racing four times, and I think forget his last two because he just isn’t a wet tracker. The win last prep saw him beat Group l performer Telopea. Brings any kind of that form here and he’ll take some holding out.
Roughie: 12 Urban Bourbon (Bet Now: $10.00) could be one to include at odds. He ran over 1050m here four weeks back when sitting back near last in the run and was pretty much run off his legs, but his final 250m was pretty tidy. Speed looks good here, so if he can sit wide with cover, he could certainly ambush late.
