Race One: WA Bookmakers Leading Apprentice 2016/17 Handicap (1MW) 1400m:
Back Me: 1 Chocolate Holic (Bet Now: $1.24) just picks itself here. Could not have been more impressive when winning here last Saturday and comes here with just enormous upside. Despite the weight rise, he just looks better than these.
Big Danger: 4 Phantom Choice (Bet Now: $6.00) ran here last Wednesday and ran a pretty encouraging race when running second to Angel Sky. Rises a fair bit in depth, but draws a soft gate and is one for exotics.
Roughie: 5 Warbrook (Bet Now: $51.00) ran over 1200m here a fortnight back and stuck to the task pretty well I thought when running fifth to Majinika, beaten five lengths. Takes on a potential Stakes class horse here, but the small field helps and he could snare a trifecta spot.

Race Two: Belmont Park $5 Early Bird Admission Plate 1200m:
Back Me: 1 The Celt (Bet Now: $2.70) is racing for the third week in a row but you just can’t ignore him. He was huge in winning last Saturday given he raced three wide no cover on speed yet still kept finding to grab the win. Up to 1200m will be no issue, he’s hard fit and in ripping form.
Big Danger: 2 Spangled Impact (Bet Now: $6.00) resumed here a fortnight back and just lacked the speed when fifth to Dainty Tess. The extra 200m looks perfect for this youngster and he is a massive threat.
Roughie: 4 Dellavedova (Bet Now: $8.50) debuted in that race won by Dainty Tess and I thought his effort was more than satisfactory given he was a $71 outsider. He has good upside I suspect and he will be strong late.

Race Three: Inglis Leading Trainer 2016/17 Handicap (1MW) 1200m:
Back Me: 2 Conseated (Bet Now: $2.30) was a strong winner when racing over this track/distance a fortnight back after receiving a lovely ride om Aaron Mitchell. Isn’t badly treated at the weights and he is the horse with the form on the board here, so I am happy to be in his corner.
Big Danger: 3 Furious Dame (Bet Now: $4.20) ran a game second to Conseated in that race mentioned above and her effort was pretty solid given she led them out by a space and was only grabbed late. She’ll lead again and give them something to chase. Last 100m will be the test.
Roughie: 4 Illusion Of Light (Bet Now: $11.00) has been given a five week freshen up since racing here where she stuck on okay without threatening when fourth to Bourbon Dynasty. The little gap between runs should do her the world of good and she draws the paint.

Race Four: Belmont Bonanza $20 Offer Handicap (72+) 1000m:
Back Me: 6 Hot Goods (Bet Now: $3.80) gets one more chance for me here. She attempted to lead all the way here three weeks back and folded up late when fifth to Black Dynamite. She’s hard to trust, but on her best form, she’d spank these, and Pike is on again.
Roughie: 4 She’s A Virtue (Bet Now: $6.00) is such an interesting runner here. She was building up an impressive record in the Summer/Autumn of 2015 but hasn’t raced since. The trials leading in have been okay without being great, but she is classy when right. Market watch.
Big Danger: 3 Mr Motown (Bet Now: $9.50) has been a very handy galloper in recent times and had a stint in Kalgoorlie but is now with Lindsey Smith. 27 days between runs is a concern, but he has quality and the claim really helps his winning claims.

Race Five: Ian & Collen Leggoe 50th Anniversary Handicap (72+) 2200m:
Back Me: 2 Verdello Blue (Bet Now: $6.00) looks one of the better bets on the program. He is a mudlark and will get conditions to suit here I suspect after leading all the way to win here over 2100m a fortnight back. Extra 100m will only be beneficial, he’ll lead and take a stack of beating.
Big Danger: 5 Material Man (Bet Now: $2.20) rises sharply in grade but has the talent. He ran over the mile here two weeks ago and produced a brilliant finish from near last to get the job done narrowly but impressively. Steep distance rise, but he comes here with good upside and is in the right stable.
Roughie: 6 Operational (Bet Now: $101.00) could be an improver here at odds. He ran here over the mile last Saturday and though he was the rank outsider, he didn’t have a great deal of luck behind Thunderclap Newman. He will love the rise in trip and hasn’t missed a place in five outings at the track/distance.

Race Six: Belmont Newmarket 1200m:
Back Me: 8 Travinator (Bet Now: $13.00) is getting on in years but has the speed to lead these. He comes through the Bolton Sprint where he had the box seat trail and stuck on pretty well when running fourth to First Among Equals. If he is allowed to roll along in front, he’ll give them something to chase.
Big Danger: 2 First Among Equals (Bet Now: $2.00) produced a brilliant finishing burst to win the Bolton Sprint first up despite sitting wide no cover for the trip. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds second up after that gut buster, but if he comes here in a positive frame of mind, he’ll just about knock them off again.
Roughie: 3 Bass Strait (Bet Now: $34.00) is a greybeard that resumes for the Parnham yard. He didn’t run too bad during the Summer/Autumn in Melbourne without winning, but the form lines are pretty solid. First up record is encouraging and he has class on his day.

Race Seven: Terrace Restaurant Book Now Handicap (66+) 1650m:
Back Me: 1 Baraki Beats (Bet Now: $3.20) has been bursting to win a race for some time now, and I think he gets his chance here. He ran over the mile here a fortnight back and looked the winner but was bloused late by Material Man, who goes around earlier in the program as a leading chance. Should get every chance from the draw and is the one to beat.
Roughie: 2 Blackwood (Bet Now: $5.50) produced a par first up effort over 1300m here two weeks ago when eighth to Uptown Funk. She just lacked the speed of her rivals. Extra trip is right up her alley now, she has upside and quality.
Roughie: 8 The Forgotten One (Bet Now: $6.50) ran at the midweeks here a tick over three weeks back and tried hard as he always does when running fourth to Coruscation, beaten just over a length. He’ll love the step up in the trip and with luck, he’ll be near the finish.

Race Eight: The Gate Bar & Bistro Leading Rider 2016/17 Handicap (1MW) 1200m:
Back Me: 13 Cool Image (Bet Now: $13.00) is a handy Viscount gelding resuming for Team Williams. He had four runs last time in and he was very frustrating because he teased to win races, but he couldn’t get the job done. No trials, but has the ability and Pike is on.
Roughie: 4 Pushin’ Shapes (Bet Now: $7.00) is a quality four year old that is first up here. He contested some really good races during the Autumn, ending with a midfield finish in the WA Derby. Trial was solid and though this is short of his ideal distance, he has quality.
Roughie: 12 Tenterden (Bet Now: $12.00) ran over 1000m here last Wednesday and got a long way back in the run before peeling out and savaging the line late to run a game second to impressive winner Coleta. He ran well behind Audience the start prior and on that effort, he’ll be ultra competitive here.
