As he has done for the Victorian Big 6 at Sandown racecourse, Adam Page gives his tips and selections for today’s cross meeting Big 6 for all those punters betting outside of Victoria.
Sandown Race 7 (Leg 4) – Zipping should win, but the wet weather concerns me. For safe measure, put
in Ginga Dude, Manighar and Rainbow Styling. Those four rate clearly ahead of the others. Again, not the
strongest edition of this time-honoured race.
Rosehill Race 6 (Leg 2) – Small field, but full off quality. Welkom Gold rises in weight but that is the only
concern with her. Skytrain has looked awesome in two recent barrier trials, as has Emperor Bonaparte and
Geared Up. These four should fight the race out.
Sandown Race 8 (Leg 5) – Tagus finally showed punters his true ability with a dominant win on Melbourne
Cup day. He’ll roll forward here and doesn’t mind the wet track. Fast Future caught the eye behind Launay
and although he is a dud on soft ground, hard to ignore his last start effort. Include Niblick, Token Of
Honour and Viking Hero.
Rosehill Race 7 (Le g 4)- Altier looked gone at the 200m last week but found her second-wind and kept
chasing right to the line suggesting that the rise to 1800m will suit her. Would love more rain to hit Sydney
but she doesn’t meet a strong field here. Our Billy Blue appears to be the main danger here. Very talented
horse that has come back very well this preparation. Russian Jar is one-paced but has been racing well of
Sandown Race 9 (Leg 6) – Three winning hopes here: Jersey Lily, Flying Tessie and Believe ‘N Achieve.
Jersey Lily was a strong winner on Melbourne Cup day and the weight rise shouldn’t be a concern. Flying
Tessie was very one-paced at Flemington behind Jersey Lily. Give her another chance and Believe ‘N
Achieve got beat by three outstanding mares last start. She’ll drift back and power home at the end.
Rosehill Race 8 (Leg 6) – Gee where do you look here to find the winner? I am a big fan of Shamash, but
there is that doubt about racing flat second up. But I can’t leave him out after his last start effort. Military
Secret is an honest type who likes to get back in the run which appears to be a good thing with plenty of
speed engaged here. Robbed loves the cut out of the ground and will be steaming home at the end. Flying
Success has the class but barrier 17 is a major worry. Go as wide as possible in this race.
Leg 1: 1,2,3,4
Leg 2: 3,5,7,8
Leg 3:1, 5,10,11,15
Leg 4:1, 6, 9
Leg 5: 1, 3, 6
Leg 6: 1, 5,6,10,15,17
A $100 investment will give you 2.31% of the dividend if successful.
