Morphettville Parks is where SA racing will take place on Saturday for a handy eight event meeting. The weather is overcast, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out seven metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; Out four metres for the remainder.

Race One (13:43) : Steadfast Brecknock Insurance Brokers Handicap (64) 1400m:

Back Me: 7 Malmoosa (Bet Now: $10.00) is a Hayes/Dabernig fily that ran in a Balaklava maiden last time out where she was backed as if unbeatable and though she took a little while to get into her gears, she powered to the line and won with a touch of class and authority. The run prior over 1300m here was a ripper and she only improve. The one they have to beat.
Big Danger: 3 Northern Lass (Bet Now: $3.20) won two on the bounce before being freshened up and racing over this track/distance three weeks back when settling off the pace and chasing had all the way behind With A Bit Of Dash, who ran okay during the Flemington Carnival. That looks decent enough to take this out.
Long Shot: 5 Reconnect (Bet Now: $7.50) also comes through a Balaklava maiden where he was a pretty solid favourite and he absolutely bolted in under young Huxtable, winning by nearly six lengths and running fast time. Needs to improve a bit to be a winning threat here, but he has upside and is in the right stable.

Race Two (14:18) : Little Heroes Foundation Handicap (82) 2400m:

Back Me: 1 Tidy Prophet (Bet Now: $1.80) comes through the Kyneton Cup last Wednesday and you could make a strong case that with a clear run, she probably wins the race, but she got badly held up in the straight when appearing to have plenty to offer. Up in trip is no issue given she ran well in an Adelaide Cup earlier in the year, and this is a big drop in depth. One to beat.
Big Danger: 4 Robocop (Bet Now: $2.75) was the last man standing when winning here two back before racing on the course proper on Cup Day where he ran a game third to Barge And Charge after receiving a nice sit just off the tempo. He is getting hard fit now and he does have a pretty good record on the Parks track. Ticks plenty of boxes for me.
Long Shot: 2 Flying Casino (Bet Now: $10.00) will appreciate the big drop in depth after racing over 2800m on Cup Day where he got back in the run and just stayed there really behind Kinema. This level looks his go and he does race well on the Parks track. Hasn’t won for a while, but perhaps a knockout chance if he gets tempo in front of him.

Race Three (14:53) : My Butcher Handicap (75) 1550m:

Back Me: 2 Magic Boy (Bet Now: $3.10) looks a really good bet to my eye. He had a two run prep in Melbourne, starting off with a closing fourth to Murt The Flirt on Blue Sapphire Day at Caulfield before racing over 1400m on Cup Day where he had market support and worked home okay late behind Demonstrate. Returns back home with two hard runs under the belt in better company. One of the best of the day.
Big Danger: 4 Mail It In (Bet Now: $2.80) looked a bit flattered in the way he won here a fortnight back given he was back in the ruck and came out wide with clear running where the rest of them were in a real clump and really trying to shove into the clear whereas he had all the momentum. I think he is a definite winning chance, but I wouldn’t take anything really short.
Long Shot: 3 Hadda Couple (Bet Now: $21.00) resumed at Mount Gambier a tick over two weeks back and worked home okay late in the piece behind Any Given Glass, beaten four lengths. He has a really good record both second up and at the track. Best form is over slightly further, but he is capable on his day, so I wouldn’t entirely ignore him from an exotic point of view.

Race Four (15:33) : Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (82) 1400m:

Back Me: 2 Beluga Blue (Bet Now: $2.50) is a class mare that resumed for the Macdonald/Gluyas stable over this track/distance a fortnight back where she had really good market support and it was justified with a dominant win, aided by a confident steer from Lindop. Can only have upside from that effort, and this race, if anything, looks easier. Hard to beat.
Big Danger: 3 Feelin The Love (Bet Now: $4.80) ran over 1250m here three weeks ago when settling off the speed and chasing hard down the entire straight but just couldn’t quite get the job done and had to settle for second to Ample On Offa. First up she ran fifth to Demonstrate, who won on Cup Day, so that form reads very well for a race like this.
Long Shot: 6 Chosen Angel (Bet Now: $7.50) took on the mares a few weeks back over 1250m here when sitting back in the run and finishing off her race nicely late behind Ample On Offa. Third up now, and the form from the first up effort has well and truly been franked, so she should be ready fitness wise and take some beating against this lot.

Race Five (16:08) : Boileau Handicap (70) 1950m:

Back Me: 4 Time Walker (Bet Now: $2.70) was backed as if unbeatable when racing over this track/distance a fortnight back and despite that market support, all looked lost when he was last in a slowly run race yet some magic from Tourneur got him home, and the form has already been franked via One For Max. Bit more depth here but hard to ignore him.
Big Danger: 1 Benefactor (Bet Now: $12.00) comes through the Mortlake Cup where he sat back in a slowly run race and it wasn’t suited to him but he picked up well late to run fourth to the handy stayer Flying Star. This looks a suitable assignment and the slight drop back to 1950m is perfect for a stable that rarely travels without a win on the board.
Long Shot: 3 Have Plenty (Bet Now: $9.00) is on the back up after racing last Saturday on the course proper where he had the suck run behind the speed and fought on pretty strongly when a close up fourth to One For Max, who wasn’t far off Time Walker, so that form reads okay and he is a three time winner on the Parks track. Knockout chance.

Race Six (16:48) : Campaigncloud & Edwards Advertising Handicap (70) 1400m:

Back Me: 6 Brown Ben (Bet Now: $2.30) may have missed all the carnage at the top of the straight when racing here two weeks ago but gee there was alot to like about his turn of foot when let down and won with absolute ease. That was his first run in five weeks, so there should be enormous upside and stable is low flying. Hard to beat and one of the better bets on the program.
Big Danger: 5 The Other Guy (Bet Now: $3.60) ran over this track/distance three weeks back where he sat on speed and fought on very strongly when bloused late by in form galloper Last Bullet, who ran well on Saturday at Flemington, so that form reads well. Not sure he can beat Brown Ben, but he does get on speed favours. A threat if things go his way.
Long Shot: 4 Simpatico (Bet Now: $12.00) was unwanted in betting when racing over this track/distance three weeks ago yet he defied those odds and ran an absolutely beauty when a close up second to the late blouser Last Bullet. That horse wasn’t far away at Flemington last Saturday, so that form reads very well. He is normally a Murray Bridge horse, but that last start effort is an indicator of how well he is racing.

Race Seven (17:28) : MAC Drink Driving? GROW UP Handicap (70) 1250m:

Back Me: If you backed 2 House Of Wax (Bet Now: $5.00) last Saturday, you might feel a little hard done by. He had the charmed run behind the tempo and was appearing to be bolting in the run, and when he tried to get clear, I think the lack of strength from the rider to shove into the clear cost him severe momentum. Runs very well on the Parks track and I like he is on the quick turnaround, plus senior rider takes over.
Big Danger: 6 Métier (Bet Now: $5.50) is a quality galloper that resumes for the Tony McEvoy stable. He ran in the Summer/Autumn of last prep and ran some quality races in Melbourne, ending the prep with a down the track effort in the Bendigo Guineas. Trials have been sharp and he has class. Big market watch.
Long Shot: 12 Penny For A Pound (Bet Now: $13.00) is the interesting type. Resumes for David Jolly and was set down to run at Balaklava on Wednesday but instead tackles the harder race after a slick trial win here on October 24. Yet to miss a place in three previous first up at attempts and Poons 2kg claim is a big tick.

BEST BET: Race Six Number 6 Brown Ben

NEXT BEST: Race Four Number 2 Beluga Blue

VALUE: Race Seven Number 2 House Of Wax
