11/9/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville

A nine race program has been assembled for Morphettville this Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out ten metres from the 1200m-Winning Post; Out six metres for the remainder.

3 Reflect The Stars (Bet Now: $1.75) is bursting to win a race for Danny O’Brien and she gets a golden opportunity here. This mare has placed her last three outings, the latest coming at Sandown last Wednesday when a game, close up third to the in form Bainbridge. Just has to hold her form and I think she wins.

2 Muntham Missile (Bet Now: $4.80) is a mare that can mix her form, but her best is certainly capable of beating these. Bolted up at this track/distance two back before going to the 2250m on the Parks track and she was just fair behind Exalted Ambition. She’s much better on the course proper here, so giving another chance.

6 Lord Gododdin (Bet Now: $10.00) is on the quick back up for Dean Saxon after racing at Murray Bridge on Sunday. He looked to get a sweet run in transit under Toeroek and loomed to win, but Ironical had it too good in front and was too strong. Not sure he wins, but a first four contender.

1 Mum’s My Hero (Bet Now: $4.80) is racing really well at the moment and is hard to beat. Ran over 1000m on the Parks track when back near last in the run and worked home with real purpose from the back behind Free Of Debt. If he can sit closer in the run, he’ll take beating I’d suggest.

2 Alleboom (Bet Now: $2.40) is a ripper for Team Jolly that will put himself on speed and give his all. Just looked in need of the run fresh behind Winning Weather before going to the Parks track when on speed and looked home, but was nabbed on the peg by Free Of Debt. Very genuine horse that will look the winner for a decent chunk of the race.

5 Little Rich Boy (Bet Now: $7.50) will look the winner for a fair chunk of this race. Blessed with early toe who only knows one way to run, and that is flat out fast in front. Can pull out a decent run fresh and when this track is firm, on speed is a good spot to be, so he’s a knockout hope.

7 Miss Daniel (Bet Now: $2.80) looks quite hard to beat for the Jolly camp. Impressive debut win at Balaklava before going to the Parks track where it was the start of an ugly day here for Callan Murray, getting badly held up at a vital stage when full of running before eventually getting clear and charging late to just miss. Better luck and she can take this out.

1 Knightstown (Bet Now: $6.50) is a talented three year old for the Richards/Moyle camp that was a noted drifter in betting when resuming two weeks back on the Parks track here and with clear air, full momentum, he was too good and held on gamely. He’s got upside to come and is hard to beat.

8 Starsongari (Bet Now: $10.00) is on the quick back up for Chris Bieg after racing last Wednesday in a maiden at Gawler. She sat back off a reasonable speed before peeling wider to clear air and she let down powerfully to get up and win. If she can build off that, she’ll be around the mark.

4 Hinchpin (Bet Now: $2.50) is getting close to D-Day for the McEvoy camp and confident he can take this out. Ran on the Parks track two weeks ago when given a sweet run, wide with cover, and looked the winner when presented but just couldn’t hold out the finale of Magnetic Edge, who ran well last Saturday, so the form reads well, and hard fit now, up to the mile, he appeals big time.

5 Celestial Illusion (Bet Now: $4.20) is lightly raced for Phillip Stokes but is showing good promise. Attempted to lead throughout a fortnight back on the Parks track and gave a solid kick from the front, but couldn’t quite finish it off and had to settle for a second to Lomax. He’s racing well and is hard to beat.

1 Moscow Red (Bet Now: $8.00) is very well in at the weights after the claim and does have class on her side being a proven metro performer. Strong win two weeks back on the Parks track, finishing best in a driving go and nailing Jaamint. Just would love this track to have some level of juice in it.

11 Tavikat (Bet Now: $2.50) on top. John Hyam trained three year old that resumed over 1200m at Murray Bridge. Copped heat on speed and was entitled to drop away, but he found under pressure and was only run down late, with a big gap to third. If that hasn’t busted him, he’ll take beating.

3 Earl Of Sandwich (Bet Now: $6.50) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Kristen Buchanan in NSW, this gelding is now with Phillip Stokes. He was a solid provincial/country class maiden when racing over there and the form around him reads quite well. Trialled well leading in so watch the market.

13 Wheels Of Courage (Bet Now: $9.00) is third up here for the Richards/Moyle camp and should just about be at peak fitness. Really good late here fresh behind So Say Angel, who has won again since. Then raced a week later at this track/distance and was okay without setting the world on fire. Little freshen up and firmer footing are two big ticks.

2 Star Status (Bet Now: $3.10) is a little query with the 60kg impost but I think he’ll be okay. Ran over 2000m here three weeks back when near the back of the field, spotting them a start, but made up ground and was good in defeat behind Exalted Ambition. I think off that run, he’ll take beating against this lot.

Slightly back in trip on a firmer deck, want to give 1 Santelmo Fuego (Bet Now: $5.50) another chance. Ran over 1950m last Saturday on the Parks track when wide no cover early, doing work, before getting outside the speed and tried hard, but that early saw him tire late. With a more economical run in transit, he can bounce back.

9 Smart Promise (Bet Now: $11.00) is on the quick back up after bolting in at Murray Bridge on Sunday. Admittedly, it wasn’t the strongest field going around, but the manner in which she attacked the line and put them away was impressive, and deserving enough of a crack at a race like this despite a poor winning strike rate.

7 Fighting McLaren (Bet Now: $7.00) on top. Ryan Balfour trained gelding that was met with good market support when resuming in a Murray Bridge maiden and under a lovely ride from Lindsay, the four year old was much too good. Bit more depth here, but jockey upgrade and lands in a plum spot from the gate.

3 Lohn Ranger (Bet Now: $8.00) is three weeks between runs for John Macmillan since recording an impressive win over this track/distance where he was on speed throughout and was there to be run down, but found plenty under pressure, kicked and was too good. He’ll give himself every chance with his racing pattern.

10 Kirinia (Bet Now: $17.00) deserves another chance. Team Jolly trained mare that was met with good market support when resuming on the course proper a few weeks back but just did far too much work on speed and rightfully dropped out to beat one runner home, over 13 lengths from the winner. Trialled well prior so giving her another look.

12 Great Diviner (Bet Now: $4.40) is the one for me. Will Clarken trained gelding that ran over 1000m on the Parks track two weeks ago, the last race on the day, and it capped off a horror arvo for Callan Murray. The horse looked to be trucking but couldn’t get a chance to build the revs and was luckless. Fitter, up to 1200m, he’ll take beating.

Market watch for sure with 6 Debt Collector (Bet Now: $13.00). He is a hard horse to catch at times but clearly his best is good enough to beat these. He ran over 1400m at Murray Bridge last time out and closed off pretty well from off the speed when third to dominant winner Left Hand Man. Better set up this time around and can win for sure.

8 Aiguilette (Bet Now: $9.00) has been up a little while for John Macmillan but continues to race really well. Looked like he would break a run of outs a few weeks back on the course proper here but had to settle for a narrow second to Extra Time. Is knocking on the door to get a win on the board.

12 Point Blaze (Bet Now: $3.60) should love the rise to 1200m for Shayne Cahill. This mare resumed over 1050m three weeks ago here and worked home with real purpose from the back when third to Lohn Ranger. Resumed without a trial, so you’d like to think there is improvement to come. Hard to beat.

Fitter and up in trip are two big ticks for 8 Impossible Action (Bet Now: $9.00). Resumed over 1050m here three weeks back where she paraded like he would need the run and that is how it panned out behind Lohn Ranger, looming but running out of condition. He’ll take good improvement off that and is one of the main chances.

10 Sitting Bull (Bet Now: $12.00) is a definite winning chance with somewhere near his best. Sam Burford trained gelding that was around a month between runs when racing last Wednesday at Gawler. Market took a set against him late, given he was a while between runs and he paraded as such, and ran like he needed the run. Has run well in town previously, so he’s a definite threat.

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 12 Point Blaze

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 7 Fighting McLaren
