JimmyBet Review
After being an on course bookmaker for over a decade, JimmyBet has now gone online and an early look at their website suggests they are a wagering operator that should be given a chance.
JimmyBet is the brainchild of James Filgate, who is a registered Victorian bookmaker that has been in the game since 2011 but has now gone online like many of his rivals have done in recent months.
Their website is one of the sharpest I’ve seen outside the BetMakers based websites. It has the three panel format of menu on the left, odds in the middle and betslip on the right. You’d assume given he’s been a racing bookmaker, that would be their predominate focus. But also on the right is a menu of upcoming sporting events, which is a big tick because the site also accomodates sporting punters.
The next to race ticker at the top looks slick, but the font could be a touch bigger and you do have to squint to see how long until the race jumps, so that can be an improvement, but it can be filtered. You can filter it suiting a code of racing you’d prefer, no matter where the location, whether it be local or overseas.
Given Filgate has a racing background, the racing markets are quite strong and the odds stack up pretty well with their rivals, which includes the big boys like TAB and Sportsbet. The knock is that they limit what they provide to what the TAB provides. Sportsbet, Ladbrokes and co provide markets on a host of other international meetings, but they make up for that with competitive markets.
One thing that improve big time is the sporting markets. They are quite thin in terms of what sports they cover, though they do have betting available for the main ones ie AFL, NRL and NBA. The big negative is the markets available for the sports. They are near non existent. The NRL Grand Final is a good example. Big boys like TAB and Sportsbet have 150 markets available for the game. JimmyBet only have head to head, line and total points betting for the game. That is so poor, and no same game multis are available, which is one the more popular bets when it comes to sport.
Their customer service is good. They have all three options of live chat, phone calls and email. Live chat and phone calls are responded to in fast time while email queries can take up to several hours to get a response.
Should I Bet with JimmyBet?
Overall JimmyBet really does not offer punters anything more than bookies such as Neds / Ladbrokes or betr who we would definitely recommend punters bet with instead but if you are looking for a new bookie we would recommend swiftbet, Palmerbet or PlayUp.
